Alex's pov:

I looked out the window of the taxi cab, eager to stretch my legs after nearly 2 hours of driving. The light sound of rain drops started slowly on the roof of the  vehicle, soft and light. Then it started pouring. Crap, I thought. I hated the rain, it reminded me too much of what had happened; no, no, no! You came here for a new start, don't even begin to think about that!
"Oy, kid!" Lost in thought, I jumped at the taxi driver's voice. "Didn't mean ta knock ya outa' day dreamin, but this is the place ya told me ta drop ya, right?" He asked in a strange accent. "Uh, y-yes, thank you sir!" I handed him a twenty dollar bill and got my suit case and labtop out of the back. The taxi drove off, splashing water in my face in the process. I sighed heavily.
"Oh well." I walked into the college. The place was deserted! I checked my phone. Oh, maybe because it's 5 in the morning. I walked up to a desk, where I got my key. "Room 1776, hon." She said nicely. "Thanks!" I quickly made my way to my room. I hope my roommate's nice, maybe we could even be, well, friends! Then I realized I was probably being too hopeful. So far, life hasn't worked out that great, for me anyway. 1774, 1775- "Ah, here we go!" I braced myself, preparing for the worst. I quietly opened the door and-wow. I saw a man with curly, brown hair, caramel skin, and freckles that looked like constellations.
"Beautiful..."
"Huh?" Shit, I totally said that out loud. I saw a purple and pink bracelet on his right wrist that looked like it had been made by a toddler. "Uh, b-bracelet!" I studdered quickly. He looked down at it, and back at me. "Oh, thanks, I guess! My idiot for a friend makes me wear it all the time, eccept when we're in class." He giggled, then went in the closet. He threw me a towel, and I caught it, confused.
"So, what's this for?" He laughed again. "Dude, you're soaking wet! It's really coming down out there!"  I looked down, and saw droplets of water leaking from my wet clothes. "Oh, thanks!" He smiled warmly at me. I guess I just found my first friend!

Notes: I know, it's boring, I'm sorry! Excuse my crappy excuse for writing, I'll try and do the second one tomorrow. Au revoir!
