Aaron's pov
"Dude, ask her out!" John exclaimed.
"Yeah, atleast let her know how you feel!" Alex followed, waving his hands to make even more of a point. I sighed and looked at the ground, rubbing the back of my neck.
"I don't know guys, I'm awkward infront of her, she's like, my best friend! I'd hate myself forever if I ruined our friendship." I said.

"Aww, c'mon Burr, you're great with communicating!" John said.
"And Theodosia's so sweet and forgiving, I doubt she'd get angry or break your friendship. And hey, there are plenty of fish in the sea!" Alex added, trying to be helpful. I gave him a look of annoyance when he said that last part. "Just saying!" He held his hands up in defense. John wrapped an arm around Alex, making the smaller man blush.
"Burr, you'll be absolutely fine. Have faith! Now, go get your girl!" John said confidently. I took a deep breath and stood up.
"Okay. Thanks guys, I'll see you later." I walked out of their dorm and towards the café, where Theodosia worked before and after classes.

Theodosia's pov
I stood behind the counter, scrolling through my phone. Suddenly, the small bell rang. Looking up, I was met with kind dark eyes, and a smile that lit up the whole room. I stood up, a blush on my face.

"A-Aaron! Hey!" I said, smiling back up at him. We stared at eachother for what seemed like hours, until we both blushed several shades of red. I cleared my throat to speak.
"So, what would you like?" I asked politely, hoping he wouldn't notice the red that dusted my cheeks.
"Hm, I'll have a vanilla latte, and I'd be pleased if you'd sit and talk with me for a bit." He said, grinning at me.

"Sure!" I said. I walked over to the coffee machine and made the latte and a coffee for myself. I walked over to Aaron's table, holding both our drinks.
"How's school, Theo?" He asked me.
"Pretty good, so far. I'm majoring in literature and minoring in art. How about you?"
"Well, I'm majoring in business, minoring in photography." He said.

"Wow, business? That has to be alot of work!" I exclaimed, making him chuckle.
"It's alright, you've just got to keep up with the work." He said. He looked at his watch and sighed.
"Aww man, I hate to end our conversation here, but I've got to get to class. See you around, have a great day Theo." He said, giving me a quick hug. I blushed and hugged back, giving him a shy smile as he walked towards the building.

About 15 minutes later, my morning shift ended and I headed back to my dorm to get ready for class. As I reached into my pocket to get my phone, I felt a piece of paper that wasn't there before. It was folded up into a neat rectangular shape. Curious, I unfolded it.

Without a second thought, I hopped up and down, squealing like a toddler. My dorm mate, Maria, looked up at me from her phone, an eyebrow raised. Still giggling, I showed her the paper, making her smirk.
"Told you, he's been into you for forever." I'm not sorry :3

John's pov
I was walking down the hall to lunch, hand in hand with Alex, when Hercules and Lafayette came running towards us. Well, more like Herc was running, while he gave Laf a piggy-back ride.
"What in the fu-" I was cut off by Herc.
"Dude, he's back." He said, out of breath.
"What? Who? I don't understand." I said, confused.
"I don't either..." Alex said.
"Thomas Jefferson, mon ami. He's back from France." Laf said, wide eyed.
"You're joking." I said. He wasn't supposed to be back for another four months!
"Umm, who's that?" Alex asked.

Oh no. This wasn't good. Thomas and his crew, James Madison, James Reynolds, Samuel Seabury, and Charles Lee were always on the prowl for new people to harass, finding any and every way to make people feel terrible, and I am not letting them hurt my Lexi. Hercules' phone pinged, signaling he got a text. His eyes went wide as he read the message.

"Guys, the Schuylers are in the cafeteria, there's a fight going on!" He exclaimed. We rushed to the cafeteria, soon finding the Schuylers in the crowd of people.
"So, who's fighting who?" Herc asked.
"We don't know. That's what we've been trying to find out." Peggy answered.
"Who's Thomas Jefferson?" Alex asked again.
All three of the sisters had an answer for that.
Angelica:
"A dick."
Eliza:
"An asshole."
...And Peggy:
"Motherfucker."
"Peggy!" Angelica and Eliza yelled.

"What?" She asked.
We made our way through the small crowd, finding Charles Lee kicking a very beatened-

James Madison?

What was going on? The seven of us gave eachother extremely confused looks. Madison was apart of their gang, not to mention Jefferson's best friend. Why was he the one getting beaten up?
"How do you like that, fag? Should I beat the gay out of you?" Lee said, punching Madison in the ribs hard.
He was getting a serious beating. I actually feel bad for-

"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING TO JAMES, YOU BASTARD?" A voice boomed, causing everyone to fall silent. Lee looked up, a smirk on his face.
"Can you believe it, Thomas? We've got another faggot in our school! I was just teaching him a le-" Thomas grabbed Lee by the throat and pushed him against the wall, a furious look on his face.

"If you ever lay a finger on my James again, I'll rearrange your face so that it's flipped upside down. Do you understand?" Thomas threatened.
"Y-your James?" Lee studdered.
"DO YOU FUCKING UNDERSTAND?!" He yelled, causing Lee to flinch.
"Yes, I understand, I'm sorry! Just, don't hurt me." Lee pleaded. Reluctantly, Thomas let go of him. Lee ran out of the cafateria, terrified. Meanwhile, Thomas knelt beside James, who was unconscious.

Thomas's pov
No, no, no! Come on, James, please be okay. Please be okay...tears threatened to fall down my face as I heard footsteps coming towards me. I look up to see Laurens and his crew, along with a boy I've never seen before.
"Thomas, do you need help?" I heard a voice ask. I held James close to my chest and nodded slightly. I picked him up, bridal style, and went back to my dorm. Everything after that was blurry.

Angelica's pov
I don't know whether he was brainwashed while he was in France, but Thomas came back as a totally different person. He cared about James. Hell, he almost strangled Charles Lee! We helped him clean James up, putting bandages on his cuts. Once we were sure James would be alright, we checked on Thomas, who hadn't left James's side since the fight.

"Thanks, guys." He told us. "I seriously appreciate it."
"No problem!" Peggy chirped.
"Text us if anything goes wrong." Herc said. Thomas nodded in response, and we left.

James's pov
I woke up holding someone's hand and frizzy hair tickling my neck. Wait, who the fuck was in my bed? I tried to sit up, but winced from the pain in my ribcage.
"Shh, Jamie, don't move to much." A voice murmured. Wait, that sounded exactly like-
"Thomas?!"
"The one and only, honey." He said.
"You're in my bed..."
"Yep." He said, snuggling closer to me.
"And holding my hand..."
"Mmhmmmm." He responded.
"Why?" I asked.
"Because I care about you Jamie! And you know you like it." He said, making me blush.
"Thanks." I muttered.

He laid back down and cuddled with me, still holding my hand.
"Hey James?" He asked.
"Yes Thomas?"
"You know I love you, right?" The comment made me blush.
"Yes, I do. And I love you too, Thomas." I said, looking into his eyes. He planted a lingering kiss on my forehead before closing his eyes.
"Jamie, I'm tired. Let's sleep." He said groggily, making me chuckle.
"Okay, Tommy."
