Alex's pov
I woke up to my phone alarm, groaning in response. I sat up and pressed the snooze button and looked across the room. John was still asleep, his chest rising and falling evenly. I got ready for the day, which included showering, packing my books, papers, and laptop, and-breakfast? Meh, I'll skip it. I brushed my teeth, then scribbled a note on a small piece of paper and left it on the the small nightstand next to John's bed.I pecked him on the cheek, causing him to shift his position and smile slightly in his sleep. John is the cutest dork in the world. I chuckled and crept out the door, making sure to be quiet. I walked quickly across campus to the class building, shivering at the tempurature of 38 degrees.
While walking to class, I thought back to what happened yesterday. This guy Thomas, who was supposed to be a prick, stood up for his boyfriend, James Madison, basically revealing to the whole school that he was gay. Not to mention he almost beat the living shit out of Lee, his supposed friend, scaring all of us half to death. And along with that, he gave up his popularity and friends for James.
I thought back to John and his great body, good-looking face, his personality, his toughness-god, he has all that it takes to be popular. So, why does he even hang around me? Let alone be my boyfr-wait, we didn't really talk about what 'we' were, did we? I blushed at the thought of a relationship like that.
I scoffed at the butterflies gathering in my stomach. John propably just felt bad for me, or was tricking me into thinking he liked me. I mean, who am I kidding? Even if he does have feelings for me, he'd never accept me if he knew my past or my fears...I shook those thoughts away as I entered the classroom, Mr. Washington waiting there for me. He looked up from his computer as he heard my footsteps, grinning as I walked in.
"Good morning, Mr. Washington." I said.
"Goodmorning Alexander. I assume you are prepared for your test today, yes?" He asked, already knowing the answer. He was the history teacher, and I don't mean to brag, but I'm his top student.
"Yes, sir! I've studied atleast 15 essays on the subject, and-"
"Slow down, son! I'm sure you'll do just fine." He chuckled.I smiled sheepishly when he called me son, that was a touchy subject. He put a hand on my shoulder.
"So, Alex, what are you doing for winter break?" My eyes widened. That was only in two weeks, and I still didn't have anywhere to go.
"S-staying with a friend, sir." I replied quickly.
"You do know the school is closed for a week and a half, correct?" He asked, a serious look in his eye. I nodded.
"And you're sure you have a place to stay?"
"Yes, sir." I replied. He patted my shoulder, not quite believing me, but close enough.
"Good." He said.John's pov
I woke up to a light smell of toast and peanut butter. I leaned on my elbows, pushing myself out of bed. I was hoping to see Alex, but I knew he was already at his class, which started at 7:00 a.m. sharp. I grabbed my phone to check the time, 7:30. My classes started at 8:30.I put my phone back on the nightstand, causing a piece of paper to fall to the floor. I chuckled, knowing exactly what it would be.
Hey, had to leave early. Again. There's breakfast on the table. Wear a jacket if you go outside, it's cold and you could get sick. I'll see you in drama, cutie.
P.S. You really do look beautiful when you sleep. ;)
-♡ LexLeave it to Alex to be an adorable romantic. I couldn't wait to see him in drama. I stood up and stretched, making my way to the tiny kitchen. There was a slice of toast with peanut butter and banana slices on it. I smiled, thinking of the first breakfast we shared together, the first time I felt his lips...god, I'm falling so hard for this boy.
I glanced at the sink. No plates, no forks, no spoons. Alex hadn't eaten again. I always bothered him about it, but nothing has changed. Taking a bite of my toast, I checked my phone, reading texts from Herc.
