Chapter 45 "A Blast before New Year's"

Third Person's POV

Bill is still outside, on a bench. Letting the snow fall on him. Well, either way, he just really don't want to go inside the hospital. He doesn't want to see the state of the twins, especially, Dipper. He blames himself entirely. How can he be so blind? Letting him leave that room when he knows he's crying and hurt.

He laughed airly, covering his face. "You.. fucking egoistical jerk."

He's such an idiot, a huge dumbass. Spending those two days, drinking, playing with girls, trying to forget about such a sweet man. Yet here he is, depressed.

"Hey, Cipher." A familiar voice called him.

He wasn't really in a mood for talking, actually, he wanted to cry his eyes out. He took a breath in, hiding inside his scarf, "what is it, Oscar." He muttered.

Oscar frowned, which he already is. He sat next to him with his hands tucked in his pockets. "Apparently, Dipper went bonkers." He said.

"Excuse me, what?" Bill faced him, oblivious.

"Mabel went to his room and saw him drinking his ass off." Oscar started, "she has no idea why he's doing this. She got mad and... well she did something horrible and that triggered the trauma and the phobia he has." His eyes lingers on the children having a snowball fight.

Bill swallowed, leaning back, looking up, holding back tears. Fuck, I feel so weak.. He hates feeling weak. It takes him back when he was a kid, which he doesn't want to remember.

"Dipper is awake but.. he won't let anyone touch him, heck, he'll be in a screaming fit if someone comes inside his room, if someone managed to grab onto him, he'll go screaming and crying." It left a sour taste on his mouth, "the doctor said if they can't help him anymore, it won't be long before they sent him to a mental institution." Oscar muttered.

"To a fucking mental hospital!?" Bill shouted, abruptly standing up in front of him. "Why would they do that!? Have they even tried to do something!?"

Oscar just stared down.

"What about his parents!? Did they even called? What about a psychiatrist? Have they tried talking-"

"Can't you see, Cipher!?" Oscar yelled on top of his lungs and Bill swear he felt the ground shale, the younger man glared at him, "talking won't do him any good! He's in hysteric! He's crazy-"

"He's not crazy!" Bill yelled back, "he's terrified. He needs someone to help him!"

Oscar stood up, facing him, "many people are helping him now. Yet he pushed them away! How can we help if he keeps pushing us away!?"

"Why do you even care, Shaw!"

"Because I love him!"

And with that statement, the air went silent and.. unbearably heavy. In the distance, you can hear the children having fun yet it feels so distant if you focused on the two arguing. The snow was suddenly heavy on Bill's shoulders and head, he almost went deaf.

Bill just stared, surprised.

Oscar clicked his tongue, "I have always been... probably ever since I met the guy." He let out a shaky breath, collapsing on the bench, he lowered his head, "such a nice person.. never in my life has someone looked at me with a genuine grin on their face." He laughed, painfully, "he's so pure and innocent, he doesn't deserve the hatred and wickedness that this world have and pushed on him.. yet, here he is, mad, scared, alone.."
