The Great Traffic Jam (English Version)

Freeway-20 (F-20), Impala, Legacy.

I drove my dad's Ram 1500 very carefully because of snowy road condition. My mom who sat next to me always warned me to reduce the speed if I have reached more than 50 km/h. While my younger brother, Dani who is autism, played a game on his cell phone. He doesn't care about the situation around him. Moreover, the view of highway is only snow-covered tress and grassland that now is white. In his opinion, it's very boring.

We were on our way to Sequoia in Axiom, a province that is located in north of Ascender Republic. It means we had to travel around 700 kilometers from our house in Cuore which is located in west. We had to pass five provinces to reach Axiom. And we had passed four provinces after three days of travel.

It was our farthest journey we have traveled by car. Our purpose driving this far was to have a holiday and pick up Dad who was being assigned by his office. In that city, there's a good area to do ski and amazing natural scenery of hills.

The situation of highway traffic was slowly getting crowded. I didn't know it was caused by the most motorists have reduced their speed due to slippery road or there was a traffic congestion.

I took a deep breath as I saw a road sign written 'Verona: 100 km'. Verona is the last province that we had to pass before reaching Axiom. It was a long and exhausting journey, I told myself.

"There was a car accident involving hundreds cars on the F-20 in Verona on KM five hundred and fifty," the radio announcer announced the current situation. "Now the police officers and paramedics are evacuating the victims and cars. And the road is temporarily closed until the evacuation done and road clear from the debris of accident. The evacuation is somewhat hampered by snowfall and strong wind. And the traffic congestion is caused by this accident has reached fifty kilometers," continued the radio announcer.

"For those motorists who is already stuck in traffic jam please be patient. And for those who is driving on F-20 heading to cities around Legacy, you can find and take alternative routes. And for the drivers who wants to go to Verona, please be patient. And it's the latest traffic report," the radio announcer ended the report.

"What? Fifty kilometers?" my Mom didn't believe about what she just heard on the radio. And I just took a deep breath (again) after hearing the news. The journey just got longer and more tiring. Me and my Mom had to prepare to face Dani who usually fussy in traffic jam condition.

Due to traffic which got crowded, I decided to move to right lane that's next to emergency lane. So, if there's something wrong I can go to emergency lane immediately.

Entering Dark Forest, the traffic completely stopped. And it had been fifteen minutes and there was no change.
