The Roar

At seven o'clock in the evening, we were still stuck in the middle of vehicles. Accroding to a news that I heard from radio, the evacuation was stopped because of heavy snow.

I chose listening to music to kill boredom. While my mom was busy feeding sandwich to Dani who woke and seemed starting to accept the traffic jam.

"Charlie. Would you please take me Dani's dark blue sweatshirt in the red bag," asked my Mom as she was cleaning bread crumbs on the seat. Forcefully, I took it.

The zero temperature air caught me immediately as I open the car door. With a quick step, I went back to the cargo which was filled with snow. The bags were also covered by snowflakes so I ahd to clean it up before open the red bag. Due to lack of lighting and I forgot to take a flashlight, made me a little difficult to find Dani's sweatshirt.

Finally, I found Dani's sweater. When I cleared up the bag, I heard a roaring sound from the forest. Is that a tiger voice, I asked myself. I paused to listen the roaring sound again and made sure that I wasn't hallucinating. And that creepy sound was heard again. But it was closer than before! I stared to the very dark forest. Nothing to see.

But suddenly, I saw a few pairs of green eyes from the forest. It seemed like the eyes were watching over me. I wasn't sure what animal is that. But most likely it was wild animals that were starving in the middle of night winter.

I hurried clearing up the bag quickly and then went inside the car. My face looked anxious after that and my Mom asked me, "What's wrong?"

"Look into the forest, Mom," I said nervously. My Mom looked in to the forest from her seat. My Mom frowned and said, "Nothing. What did you see?"

When I wanted to answer, suddenly a tiger appeared jumping up to our car hood. My Mom, Dani, and I were shocked. That tiger stood and roared in front of us. And then it looked at us closely with a scary face. And I could see its saliva dripping from its mouth which filled with sharp teeth.

Unfortunately, there wasn't only one tiger which went out from the forest. I didn't really know about how many tigers came up from the Dark Forest, but I thought they were just one colony. Most of the tigers stood next to our car. Some of it also stood next to other cars. And the others walked to the middle lane and I saw a tiger climbed to the roof of a sedan.

The situation was very gripping. And I couldn't do anything. There's nothing or any gun that I could use to make a tiger which was standing on the hood walk away. A tiger was seen starting to break the car window (I have no idea how could it broke the glass) and wrecked the car. And then it tried to pounce on the person who was inside.

There's nothing we could do. The fear covered my body. And it got worse when a tiger jumped onto the roof caused our car shook violently. My Mom looked up with a frightened face and Dani began to cry. My Mom immediately smothered his mouth so that he didn't make any noise that could attract the attention of the tiger.

Screaming voices were heard everywhere. I didn't see the cops who stood around. I guessed they were hiding in their patrol car.

From inside the car I could see two tigers killed two people. They seemed like already die. Those tigers took its prey to the emergency lane. The other tigers were followed to eat them.

And suddenly I heard gunshots from everywhere. My Mom, Dani, and I immediately lowered our head to avoid any stray bullets. I peeked through the window and I saw some polices shot the tigers which was eating.

Some tigers fell. And the tigers weren't shot running back to the Dark Forest leaving its prey lying on the road.

Ambulances, policies, and some tiger handlers came up to the scene. The dead bodies who became tiger prey was taken to the hospital and the dead tigers were transported by truck. I didn't know where the tigers will be taken.
