A/N: As a thank you to all those who have read my story and like me, want Noorhelm to live happily ever after, here's a new story, relaying the events that took place on Amalie's 1st birthday... xoxo, Trish.

"What are you doing up so early?" William whispered into her ear as a pair of strong arms wrapped her in a warm embrace. He gently laid his chin atop her head, and she mellted against him.

"Can you believe she's one already? My sweet girl's one year old, William...," Noora knew she was on the verge of tears, seeing as how her heart was bursting with love for the angelic face that lay cuddled in a yellow blanket, few feet away.

"Hey, hey, no tears Noora, not today... Our princess is turning one... This calls for joy and celebration, not tears." Saying so, he spun her around to face him and gently patted the back of her head as she sniffled into his t-shirt.

"I guess... I mean we did manage to spend a year without having an existential crisis. I've heard it's quite common among young parents," Noora answered with a soft chuckle.

Letting out a surprised laugh, he tightened his arms around her and bent low to whisper into her ear, "See, that's the spirit, beautiful. I knew I could count on you to look on the brighter side of things."

With a radiant smile that replaced any tears that might've been present Noora got up on her toes, entwined her fingers in his soft chocolate brown locks and looked into his dark eyes that were brimming with happiness and said, "What would I have done without you, Wilhelm?"

As his infamous crooked grin spread across his handsome face and his eyes crinkled, she fell deeper in love with her husband, if that was even possible. Threading her hand through his unruly locks she softly but passionately kissed him.

As she tried to move back, William's arms tightened more around her until she was plastered to his hard chest, not a sliver of space between them. She let out a gasp at the sudden intensity with which he was looking at her and before she knew it, he was picking her up until her legs were wrapped around his waist and his hands grabbed fistfuls of her hair to tilt her head as he devoured her lips.

Broke her apart...Joined her back together.. Piece by piece.

Finally when the need for oxygen became necessary, they broke away, both panting, dragging in lungfuls of air. His hair was a mess. Sticking up in all directions, making him look as if he'd just rolled of bed looking like a rockstar. His lips were swollen and his eyes...Oh god, his eyes were darkened with a hunger that was all too familiar..

In such a lust filled daze he'd pushed her into with the help of one simple kiss that when he teasingly whispered, "I guess we'll never know" before nipping her ear, it took her more than a few minutes to realize that he was talking about the question that had started all this.

William had already walked into Amalie's room and was gently swaying with her in his arms. The baby's chubby hands continuously grabbed onto his shoulder length hair, looking mesmerised as she stared into his eyes. The scene was so beautiful, that Noora almost went back on her promise to William about not crying. Walking slowly into the room so as not to disturb its peaceful occupants, Noora settled into the plush rocking chair near the window.

The deep humming of William as he sang 'Happy Birthday' and the adorable little gurgles that Amalie responded with formed the only sounds in the sunlit room. This moment felt so right that Noora felt compelled to send out a small prayer as a thank you for her little family.

"Here you go, Mama," Noora gently took hold of the precious bundle of her daughter as William passed Amalie to her. She was such a sweet and good baby that she made not even a peep as the transfer was made. As soon as Amalie settled on her lap, she grabbed onto her Mother's thumb that was lying next to her and tightened her grip. Seeing that, Noora's heart almost drowned in the maternal love that it was swimming in these days. Looking into eyes that mirrored her own right down to the slight tilting, she felt at the top of the world.
