SHE COULD ONLY wait for her parent's decision. But no one spoke. There was only silence. She was able to see that her mother was about to have a complete break down. Her father made several attempts to calm her down; yet nothing seemed to work out for them. Arcas decided to avoid getting involved and Castor tightened his grip around his sword.

Everyone's eyes were on them. They knew how hard it was for those whose children chose to serve as the ones who would guide everyone to their salvation; the City of Light. They, too, waited patiently to hear what would it be. Sofi was not only Priya's child. Everyone saw her as their daughter or sister. She was loved by every single person that was part of the Sangedakru clan.

"Go" , her father's voice broke the thick veil of silence.

She could hear the gasps and whispers leaving everyone's mouth; she chose to ignore them. The metal sound from a sword being pulled out of its scabbard reached her eyes and she quickly turned her heard towards its source.

It was Castor; the boy who never learnt how to control his anger. He did not like it when others talked about his family. Because they knew nothing about them. Only the four of them knew the truth that was behind Sofi's actions. Only he had sworn to protect her with his life when he found out.

"Take care" , her mother told her through her sobs. "Follow the rising sun" , she whispered, and gave Sofi one last hug.

The girl was quick to get the basic things she would need for her journey, but made sure she had enough to keep both of them alive. Castor was walking beside her, hoping that his sister was headed towards the correct direction. He had never been out in the desert alone; he was a bit afraid, but excited, too.

They walked for more than an hour under the hot sun, leaving behind them a trail with every step they took. The path was a difficult one, with dunes of sand in their way. But neither one of the two siblings became tired. The beauty of the desert was something that made both Sofi and Castor want to explore even more the secrets of their home.

Thirteen people. That's how many they saw standing in front of them, looking lost. The two siblings took a more careful look at them. They were all men, and they did not look like they belonged in either of the twelve clans. The younger boy was ready to fight, the only thing that knew how to do best.

But the girl did not see them as a threat. One of them, perhaps their leader, spoke in English to the rest of his people. She was not able to hear what he was saying exactly, but a few words were enough to make her feel like they were not a threat.
