Chapter 15

The next day at school at lunch I could see Cole sitting with all his friends. They were surrounding the corner table in the cafeteria. I wasn't too sure what to do, a part of me wanted to go over to him, but the other part of me, the part that knew I would die of embarrassment if Cole decided to give me the cold shoulder all over again stopped me. So I proceeded forwards to find Talia.

"Val!" I could have sworn he yelled my name out, or so I thought. I was going to turn around, but it probably wasn't my name that he was yelling out. I mean 'Val' can get mixed up with anything. I didn't want to turn around and have me seem so desperate. So I left it.

"Valerie!" He grabbed my elbow and turned me around. "Didn't you hear me?" He asked.

I shook my head. "No, sorry. Hey"

And then he kissed me right there in front of everyone. "Well maybe you should fix your ears" he said while tucking my hair behind my ear. "Come on. Sit over here with me" he said while holding my hand and leading me over.

I pointed towards the grassed area out side the cafeteria "Talia's waiting for me" I said.

"Bring her too" he replied while grabbing my bag. "Okay" I replied, smiling so much I could swear I looked like that horror character. I walked away as casually as I could, though I felt like I had wooden legs.

Talia was sitting on the grass next to Carl. Carl seemed to be really upset about something and by the looks of it I think Talia was giving him advise. I didn't want to interrupt them so I turned back around and made my way back to Cole.

"Where's Talia?" He asked while patting the seat next to him for me to sit down.

I shook my head and sat down next to him, Elanee was sitting at the bench directly in front of us. As I sat down Elanee and I made awkward eye contact. Cole had noticed the tension and threw his arm around my waist and pulled me in. "Don't worry about her" he said while giving me a quick kiss and resting his hand on my thigh.

Elanee had noticed, she got up and walked away with what looked like a tear in her eye. I hated the fact that Elanee and I had awkward tension between each other just because of a boy. I really did think highly of her and to be honest I want to get to know her more. But it would just be weird and uncomfortable.

"So what are you doing today after school?" Cole asked me. Guessing he could tell that I had felt uncomfortable. "Oh you know, the usual" I replied.

"Can I do the usual with you" he said back with a childish smile on his face. He reminded me of one of those little kids that asked to play games on your phone. He was all little like and seemed so lively inside.

"If that means sleeping and eating then yea" I replied back smiling.

One of Cole's friends asked him a question to spark up a conversation and as Cole looked away I looked forward to see Carl looking in my direction. I went to smile but as soon as I did he turned around and walked off. I looked over towards the grassed area and saw Talia sitting by herself now.

"I'll be right back" I said to Cole as I lent over and gave him a kiss on the cheek. I didn't feel too happy to leave him. Partly because of Elanee. She has so much confidence. She wouldn't get embarrassed if Cole turned her down therefor giving her the opportunity to do anything.

But Talia was my best friend. And at the moment she was currently sitting down by herself. And knowing Talia, she hates being by her self.

"Hey" I said while squatting down beside her.

"Oh hey, where have you been" she said back.

I nodded over to where Cole was sitting and saw he was staring straight at me. I gave him a small smile and put my attention back into Talia.

"Do you want to come sit with us?" I asked. She nodded and I gave her a hand up as we made our way back over.

"Hey guys this is Talia, and this is Valerie....my girlfriend..." Cole said as he grabbed hold of my hand so I could sit down beside him again. Talia sat on the other side of the bench with a guy she knew from one of her classes and they talked heaps.

"So....girlfriend hey? Is that how your going to refer me as now" I said while smirking.

"Just letting the boys know what's mine baby" he replied while giving me a wink along with the most cheeky smile he's done. I giggled and proceeded to eat my apple.

"So what subject have you got till it's time to leave?" Cole said trying to spark a conversation.

"Well if I can remember it's maths" I replied back.

"Sweet, I'll leave class early and be waiting out side room number....-

"12" I added.

"Right. Out side room number 12" he said giving me a peck on the cheek.

"See you then" I said while getting up after the bell had gone when he finish his sentence.
