A Few Hours Later

"Megan, Seneca! Wake up! Please, just wake up!" Chelsea screamed, being pulled away by the ambulance people. Chelsea was crying and she called Brandon on her phone.

"Hey, what's up Chels?"

"BRANDON COME DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW! I'M AT 28 CABRILLO ST, NEWPORT BEACH! SOMETHING HAPPENED TO MEGAN AND SENECA!"

"Um okay, I'll be right there." He said, his voice confused and worried.

Chelsea talked to the paramedics, telling them the names of Megan and Seneca.

"The driver's name is Megan Searls and the passenger is Seneca Lane. Megan was taking her to a place as a surprise because it's Seneca's birthday today. She was supposed to pick me up after they were finished but she never came. So I drove over and saw their car flipped over."

"Thank you ma'am, we'll take it from here."

"Are they going to be okay?!"

"Ma'am, to tell the truth, it's hard to say, I'm sorry."

Chelsea nodded her head and walked back and forth waiting for Brandon.

1 Hour Later

After an hour of Chelsea waiting, Brandon had finally arrived, confused on what was going on.

"Um, hey Chels, what's going on? You're out here by yourself not with Megan or Sen."

"Brandon... are you and Sen still fighting, or ignoring each other?"

He nodded, bringing his head down, looking at the concrete.

"I bought her a present, but I never came to school because I knew she wouldn't care what I had to say. So it's still at my place... I wish she would forgive me, I really am sorry. I just don't want to lose her."

Chelsea's expression got worse because she had a feeling what his expression was going to turn into when she told him the news.

"This is really hard to say Brandon, but... Megan and Seneca... they got into a car crash. They're at the hospital right now so I waited for you to come so we both went over their."

Brandon was shocked. His jaw dropped, and he shook his head.

"No, no. You're lying Chelsea. Nice try-"

"YOU THINK I'M JOKING BRANDON? I'm serious, they were on their way somewhere and Megan was surprising her and they got in a car crash."

Brandon didn't say anything. He sprinted to his car and drove off. She quickly went into the car and followed him to the hospital.

When they arrived, Brandon ran as fast as he could to see Seneca. He cared about Megan, but he wanted to see his own childhood friend first. When he went to the check-in, he said that he was looking for Seneca Lane and they pointed which room she was in. The whole time he would run, never walk. He couldn't think straight, his mind filled with thoughts of what could happen to her, what his life would be like with Seneca there.

He finally reached her room, panting. He touched her hand, hoping she would wake up. But no response. Eyes were closed, body was still, and a beeping noise of her heart-rate. He spread his hands across his face, not knowing what his feelings were. He was worried, nervous, even angry. Angry that he wasn't there for her enough, angry that he didn't come to school and give her the present he bought. The rest of the night, he held her hand never leaving her side until she would wake up. And Chelsea was waiting for Megan to get out of surgery, fidgeting with her hands. She was worried about Megan and Seneca. Her own best friends in a car crash having to go to the hospital, straight to surgery. Megan's surgery went on for hours, but Chelsea never left.

It was around midnight that the doctors came out, taking off their gloves and gear. Chelsea ran over to find out the news, noticing they didn't have Megan.

"I-I'm sorry ma'am, she didn't make it through surgery. I'm sorry for your loss."

Chelsea was speechless. She couldn't breathe, she was starting to sweat. A tear streamed down her face, and then a flood following. She ran to Brandon to tell him the news.

When she walked in, he was still holding her hand. He looked up, seeing her face, and quickly got up and hugged her.

"Hey what happened?"

"M-Meg-gan di-dn't make it in her sur-gery." She could barely speak she was crying so much. Brandon couldn't say anything either. They choked on the words that they wanted to come out. They both cried for the rest of the night, sitting by Seneca.
