Surfacing

I decide to swim to the surface, I'm running low on energy

"Myra Asrai!"

I roll my eyes at the annoying Siren. She doesn't like me going to the surface as often as I do. She thinks it's "dangerous".

I mutter under my breath, "Leave me alone, Arvaia."

I swim away from her, losing her in the trail of bubbles behind me. I peak out of the water, water dripping down my face. I haven't been to the surface since this morning, I think to myself. Time to claim another victim. I see a ship in the distance. It has to be at least thirty feet tall. I smirk and swim closer. I hear other Sirens claiming their victims elsewhere, but this one's mine. I also hear drunken laughter. Pirates. Even better. I duck under the water, adjusting my voice.

I start to sing:

Hear my voice beneath the sea,

Sleeping now so peacefully,

At the bottom of the sea,

Sleep for all eternity!

Sailors live so restlessly ,

Come with me, sleep peacefully,

Listen to this Siren's song

Worry not for nothing's wrong

Let my voice lead you this way,

I will not lead you astray.

Trust me as we reach the side,

Jumping out where men have died!

I hear the men go quiet. They start looking for me, and the ship starts heading for the cliff side, just as planned.

Hear my voice beneath the sea,

Sleeping now so peacefully,

At the bottom of the sea,

Sleep for all eternity!

Let the ocean fill your lungs,

Struggle not, soon peace will come.

Taking in your final breath,

Sink down to the ocean's depths.

"I wish I could always be

in the ocean's arms you see"

He who'd wanted nothing more

Sleeps now at the ocean floor

The ship starts to scrape on the rocks. I swim closer to the ship, singing,

Ocean was your lover's name,

You had loved her all the same.

Now you'll always be together,

Siren's are so very clever!

Hear my voice beneath the sea,

Sleeping now so peacefully,

At the bottom of the sea,

Sleep for all eternity!

The ship collides with the cliff side, and pirates and sailors fall overboard. I swim back under with my newly gained energy, but I see something out of the corner of my emerald green eyes. A boy about my age, sinking to the depths. I do something that I never thought I would. I dive for him and bring him up to the beach.

I set him down gently, taking in the whole thing. He's covered in bruises and cuts, and it seems he was covered in blood. He has dark brown hair that looks like it's supposed to be swept over to one side. My hand finds it's way to his chocolate locks, and it's silky. He's just so beautiful. He's not breathing. I check his pulse. Barely there. I start panicking.

Then I do something even crazier.

I kiss him. Hard.

Alrighty! I have big plans for this, and I hoped you liked this introduction. The song lyrics go to a very talented person on YouTube, her channel is SaraSinger42, and she gave me special permission to use the song, so yah. Anyway, Like I said, I have huge plans for this story, and I'm planning to make the chapters longer. And I'm thinking to do a POV of the boy. Yes he has a name. It will be revealed in the next chapter. Again, hope you guys liked this! Don't forget to vote, comment, and follow!

Sea you later, beaches!

xoxo
