"That person who enters your life out of nowhere and suddenly means the world to you..."

POV-Evelyn

I wake up in a large dark room, my bones ache and I can't seem to feel anything.I groan and sit up not remembering how the hell I got here. I glance around and my eyes land a huddled form in the corner of the room. I also notice many other people sitting around, some crying some having small conversations in different groups.

I make a move to stand but stop when the door suddenly opens and the two men from before step inside carrying what seems to be two other bodies. They drop the bodies and head back out of the cell we are contained in.

I wait until their footsteps get further and further, I stand up when there is nothing but the silence of night time in the cell. I steady myself and peer into the darkness trying to spot the huddled body from before.

I take a step and it immediately lands onto something, "hey watch it!" A female voice hisses pulling her outstretched hand away after I lift my foot.

That's when I realize the cell was full of people laying around the floor or in huddles of people.

My eyes get used to the dark and I am able to see the multiple silhouettes of people sitting around each other. I get more and more confused as I head to the one person not with anyone else seeing if I can get any answers.

I crouch down near the girl, she sits in the corner her head pressed against the cement wall.

"Do you have any idea why we're here?" I ask quietly as if I didn't want anyone to hear.

Her head turns slow, her eyes narrow and she looks up and down then around the rest of the room. "You new here?" She asks me.

I nod my head and sit beside her, she shifts a bit so that she's facing me.

"I don't really know why we've been brought here but I came in with the last group a few days ago." She says sighing and resting her head against the wall and staring up.

"I'm Evelyn" I say, I look over and watch as she takes a tendril of her red hair and moves it behind her ear. She forces a smile and sticks out her hand.

"I'm Meg."

Meg and I talked for what seemed like hours about our lives before getting kidnapped. Her life seemed like a dream. Her dad was a CEO of this big company and they were rich, she had everything until her mother died of cancer that shot her into a downward spiral. Ceasing contact with the rest of her family she moved out to the city to try and forget about her mom and the life she had.

A pretty similar story to mine. I had also told her about my past the man I loved and my name getting changed. She was surprised at first that my name hadn't been Evelyn but Loren. She said I resembled a Evelyn more so than Loren.

We sit at the wall still but now have a larger group circling around Meg and I. We've been talking together trying to brainstorm why we are all gathered around like this.

"People have been going missing" one blond girl pipes up from the back, most of the new people gasp their eyes widening.

"They've been taken from the cell and their screaming would fade as their brought down the hall away from us. They haven't come back" a guy says.
