I walked out of the pasture to the grassy fields seeing Spice. He neighed in pain flopping his head back and forth as all the horses were in the pasture. Even Jed.Or Jem. I forget his name. The thing about Spice's neigh was that he sounded pained. He saw me and his face brightened as he tried to run. Tank barked beside me as I patted her back. I walked towards the gate putting both feet on the top part of the fence sticking my hand out to greet him. Looking down at his feet as he came towards me I saw his foot have something shinny and silver flopping around. His shoe?
"Go get Gage." I told Tank and she obeyed charging towards the house her barks loud and warning as she got there in a minute before scratching on the door.

"What happened?" The boys ran out of the house hair messy and tangled sticking straight up with nothing on but boxers and a bat raised high in the air. "Spice has his shoe flopping around." I yelled over to them as Spice nuzzled my hand that was outstreched towards him.Nodding Colton hopped the fence and lifted up Spice's shoe as Gage called on his cell phone. Running his hand down his face he spoke clearly, 'Hey! Spice's shoe undid itself again. Yup, yup. See you then!' He shut his phone and walked by me as Colton put his hoof on his knee gently as Gage watched him. I moved myself to were I could see his shoe and saw it hanging on bye one nail. Oh wow. Must hurt like heck. Turning to me he pointed his long index finger towards Jed or Jem...whatever his name is. "He isn't trained. You are going to be my horse." He told me sternly.

I turned towards him and glared. "You can walk." I told him seriously before he grinned. "But I prefer to ride." He said gazing at me. I stomped my foot and huffed knowing I wasn't getting out of this.I stuck my tounge out as Tank wiggled inbetween us while setting her front paws up on the first bar of the gate with her ears pricked forwards looking at Spice. In the distance you could hear the engine coming down the road as if it was racing for the last dime in the world. The black Jeep came in with squealing tires as he skidded from going so fast.

The thing was...he opened the door so slow and got out with a box bucket thing. Walking towards us with a slam of his car door he walked towards us with a bright smile on his face. Well okay then. The farrier I guess motioned when he was half way there to open up the gate. Gage shook his head and motioned towards the other horses back in the furthest corner grazing. Well exept Whiskey she was looking at me as I clicked to her. She moseyed towards me with lazy steps her ears alert as she looked at the farrier. I flicked my gaze towards a sudden movement as Colton groaned from the weight of Spice's shoe as he fell on his knees his hands still supporting his hoof weight.

"Cmon now speed your butt up! You arn't fifty!" Colton spoke with a raised voice as his face turned red. With a chuckle the farrier sped up.

"Guys we need to get Spice to the barn so nothing harms his hoof. Nodding Gage stuck his hand threw a peice of material in the halter as he opened up the gate slowly making Spice come out with his limp still there. The shoe slung back and forth hanging down as he lifted his hoof up. He let out a pained neigh again before slowly moving again. Gage obviously had done this before as he paided close attention to Spice. A tap on my shoulder made me look up. "Hi I'm the farrier Mike." He let out a smile at me and I nodded at him. "I'm Mia." He stuck his hand out and I took it in a firm grasp and shook it.

Sending a wink towards me he caught up to Gage. "Mike's a friend of ours that let us stay in his house until we could get on our feet." Colton said.I nodded with a slight puzzeled frown on my face before he said to go catch the horses. Psh, catch them? More like just walk up to them.Whiskey was sticking her head past the gate snorting as she reached her teeth out to tug on my shirt I stumbled backwards into the gate as she sniffed my face. I pushed her head away laughing a little bit while I smiled at her. The distant sound of a click made me look the way it came from. There stood Mike with his phone in his hand with it pointed at me and Whiskey with a bright grin on his face.

I rolled my eyes at him before kissing Whiskey on her nose. She let out a snort as I looked at her before I climbed on the bars of the gate and poking her ribs so she turned towards me. I braced my one leg before putting my other leg over her as I sat loopsided before pulling my other foot at the other side. "Come on girl let's go get them." I leaned down to her ear and whispered before she took off at a trot getting a few horses like Ryder to follow us lazily. I kicked Whiskey making her gallop her neck and head lurching forwards into a sprint, her legs pounding in the grass. I leaned my body weight into my left side making the horses in the herd gallop as they saw us charging towards them as they galloped into a mighty fine little herd. The colors mixing together as I grinned.

ooo

The horses were eventually by the gate rearing and pawing as we kept them in a circle, the boys walking down with lead ropes, the saddles already sitting on the fence waiting for a special horse to wear the tack. When the horses saw the tack and lead ropes the quieted down with defeat clear in their eyes. I went up to the nearest horse and patted his back, turning to look at me his face was a mask of 'Do I really have to?' I sighed when the gate opened and everyone crowded the horses snapping on lead ropes. The horses were hyper today. Way hyper. I ran a hand down my face, Mark was still in the barn working on Spice's shoe. I hopped off Whiskey and she grazed as I ran up to the barn and I shifted into a pure white horse.

A little while later the people came down and Book Boy was sitting there his nose in a different book this time. Do you want to guess who I let ride me? Book Boy. Gage got so mad, oh well it isn't my fault something crawled up his butt and died.
