Train Ride

"Wow I'm surprised."

I look at Gale across from me fast asleep. Then I look at Peeta, and his beautiful blue eyes.

"Surprised? About what?"

"You sitting next to me instead of Hawthorne. I was starting to think you hated me."

Why would he think that? I mean yeah we've had our ups and downs, but lately there should be no reason for him to think that.

"If anything I thought you hated me."

Peeta is obviously shocked and a little hurt.

"Katniss, you know exactly how I feel about you. In fact I'm kinda mad you said that."

"You're mad?? How about me? I had to go through so many months of therapy just to stop thinking about you, and how you were hijacked. so don't say you're hurt. I have obviously been through worse!!!"

Oh crap please lord tell me I didn't just say that? How can I bring up the hijack and then say it wasn't bad. I'm a horrible person. Peeta looks pretty upset.

"Okay katniss, whatever."

"Peeta I'm so sorry."

"No, you were right you've been through worse."

"Um"

The next half an hour is causing me anxiety. Peeta won't talk to me. I don't blame him though, what I said crossed the line. maybe I should try to talk to him again.

"Peeta?"

"What?"

"You know it was really hard for me. when you were hijacked. I couldn't see you cause you would try to kill me. I wouldn't be able to sleep or eat or even move sometimes. It was like going through my own version of hell. How can you go from being totally in love with someone to not being able to see him. Not to mention that he was trying to kill--"

"Wait what?"

"Um what?"

"You just said in love."

"I'm no I didn't."

"Katniss!"

"So what if I did."

"Well are the feelings still there?"

"I don't know."

Peeta leans in close and grabs my hand. Wow his eyes are gorgeous! Wait what's happening? Peeta then starts to stroke my hair behind my ears.

"Katniss, I've always loved you. Its just that along the way my mind went to a different place. But it's back now. It's back for good."

"How do I know that? I mean what if you have another bad flashback and never come back to me?"

After that sentence tears come rolling down my face. Peeta starts to wipe them away.

"Sweetheart, don't cry. I can't see that beautiful face crying. Otherwise I'm gonna cry, and I don't think anyone will wants to see that."

"Haha. See this is what you do to me. You break me."

"Well sometimes walls have to be broken down in order for the trust to come out. I've already gave mine away a LONG time ago."

"To who?"

"Oh just this stubborn, beautiful, strong, fierce girl. She had nobody else in her life to trust. Except her little sister and bestfriend. who mean the world to her."

"Oh yeah? Well I hope everything turned out okay with her."

"Oh yeah. They turned out wonderful. In fact I got to spend what could have been my last days with her. Its okay though cause if they were my last days, they would've been my best."

"Wow she sounds incredible. Whats her name?"

As he leans in closer and closer, his lips start to make a K sound. When his lips are just close enough to touch he says

"Katniss."

Then we kiss. This kiss is so passionate and intense that I can barely stay in my seat. Its not wild or anything. Its just intimate and so wonderful. I start to bring my hands to his hair when his hand grab them. He pulls away from the kiss and starts to kiss my nose, then my cheeks, my forehead, chin, neck, then lastly my hands. I get chills as he's transitioning through everything. He's so elegant with every move he makes. When I think that it's over he goes to my ear and whispers.

"Do you love me?"

All I can think of saying is.

"Always and forever."

"Katniss wake up! Katniss!!"

I open my eyes to see Gale sitting next to me, and shaking me awake. He points towards the window and stares through. I look in front of me to see Peeta knocked out. I unbuckle and walk across to the seat next to him.

"Peeta, Peeta wake up."

I shake him awake. He looks ups with those beautiful blue eyes.

"Um, we're here. At district 3."

"Oh, well thank you for waking me up."

"You would've done the same."

"Yeah. Always for you."

I freeze. Was that only a dream? Or real?
