Robyn hated long trips. Especially the ones that involved sea. Of course she was sea sick but there was just something about the almost infinite vastness of the sea that put her off.
Sailing in her father's yatch over to New Flagn from Mazami she got digitty down with the live videos she knew her fans loved and always looked forward to, and boy did she have a lot of fans.
Jermaine Dallas hated her addiction to the internet and social media. It was ironic how she was being inward lonesome and antisocial. Often, and much to her disgust, Jermaine had a routine of telling her to get out of the cyber space and into real life.
"Dad, get modern. Minecraftia is 256 R.E.T years old dad, that's the 31st century for crying out loud."
"Plus it's weird to be all up in people's faces nowadays, I mean it's not like we're at Ellen DeTypis or some other live audience show.
Speaking of live audience shows, "
Robyn said in an attempt to change the subject
" how's yours coming up?"Jermaine's eyes widened in slight surprise at his usually cold daughters show of interest in his personal life.
"Well it's doin' pretty good... it just needs more time to ripen, y'know I'll be bringin' in..."
"Nope. No details Jermaine."
Jermaine was starting to wonder who this was and where the real Robyn was, but there she was two feet away and walking farther... no change
"You know you really have to stop doing that to people..."
He started to say."Not listening dad, you're ruining my live video!"
Jermaine's depression was obvious in his heavy sigh of surrender.
To think that he, Jermaine Dallas, a people person, a crowd pleaser couldn't even hold a conversation, however brief, with his daughter without her zoning out on him."And while all this is goin' on she dosen't even see her mother let alone confide In her. She must be really lonely."
Jermaine thought to himself.Robyn's mother Ronda was a culinary expert who toured from one part of the world to the other at every point in time. Never settling, a real adventurer she was. Apparently to her an adventure was more important than family, than home.
Once in a while she would call in to say hey or drop a comment on one of Robyn's online videos on Fibigram but that just wasn't the same was it?
Ronda never had enough bonding time with her daughter and Jermaine was sure about that.«bzz..bzz»
Robyn's phone buzzed while playing her ringtone :I Love You by her all time crush Brandon West."Uggh, who is it? "
She raised the phone to display caller ID.

Robyn's P.O.V
Oh, her again
I swipe the screen and pick the call.
"Hey sweetie pie!"
A shrill and squeaky yet beautiful voice calls from across the line.
"Hey mom."
I try to pack as much indifference into the response as I can."Who has two thumbs and just got invited to be a judge at a summer cookout fest in Payrese? "
"Yayy."
I say and roll my eyes hoping the sarcasm is evident enough to send the message: IM MOT I.N.T.E.R.E.S.T.D HON!"Oh don't be such a buzz kill Ronda. Well pack your bags 'cause my manager says I can bring you along baby, we gon' do a lot of fun stuff together. I'm already excited honey. "
I can tell that she's smiling and I wonder why. It seems like she tries to pack as much artificial affection into these rare conversations we have that it chokes me every time.
" Too bad mum, I'm on a boat on the other side of the world."
I say flatly.I can imagine how awkward it would be for the both of us and I'm just doing us both favours by not going. I can't believe she thinks well bond on some crappy shit show she apparently lives for.
"Well, screw it, I tried."
My mum says and hangs up. On that last comment her voice is laden with a kind of bitterness or regret I don't quite understand. I get the feeling she offered me the trip just to fulfill all righteousness.A notification beep drags me out of my thoughts, at least I have a distraction from the chaos that is my life.
I go to sleep thinking about my dad and how he's faring what with my Mum gone all the time... not that I care any way.
Do I care?
I'm nOt sO SuRE any... AnY...
