Curiosity Killed the Cat (Original Script)

Part 3

Eden is sitting at the table eating cereal, when Ariana runs out with her backpack, and the book.

    ARIANA - Eden the book

    EDEN - What about the book

    ARIANA - there is more written in it

Eden gets up to go look at the book.

    EDEN - how?

    ARIANA - I don't know, I just opened it this morning and there was more.

    EDEN - Why did you take the book out of the garbage? You know what forget it, I don't want to know. what does it say?

    ARIANA - It says, You may have notice that the box this book came with doesn't come with a key. (pauses)

    EDEN - What box? Did you see a box?

Ariana shakes her head and puts the book down and walks towards the bedroom, Eden follows. In Room. Eden and Ariana are looking all over the room, but can't find it. Eden stands up.

    EDEN - Hey Ms.. Martha!?

    MARTHA - Yes!?

Eden starts walking toward the door

    EDEN - Have you seen a random box laying around!?

    MARTHA - Umm yeah, I found a small box in the hallway so I put it in the Kitchen. Maybe that's it.

    EDEN - Okay, thanks

Eden and Ariana run into the kitchen, and start looking around. Ariana grabs it from the desk.

    ARIANA - got it, I don't know how we didn't notice it the first time.

Ariana looks at the lock

    ARIANA - there is a lock but no key, like the book said.

    EDEN - Thank you captain obvious.

Ariana glares at Eden and puts the box back down and takes the book out to continue reading.

    ARIANA - Hold on the box though because you will get the key, eventually. Now it's time to start the best part of this story.... It just has some numbers at the bottom.

Eden walks closer

    EDEN - let me see

Eden takes the book and places it open on the table.

    ARIANA - 1 11 0 10 1, 10011, 11110110111 (13021, 19, 1975)

    EDEN - strange

    MARTHA - will one of you take out the trash for me?

    EDEN - Sure!

    OUTSIDE

Eden is just getting the garbage can down to the end of the driveway while Ariana follows her looking at the book.

    ARIANA - what does this mean?

Eden grabs the book from her

    EDEN - It's binary code

    ARIANA - wha?

Eden starts walking with the book back up the driveway, Ariana follows her.

    EDEN - It's so obvious, how did I not see it.

    Inside

Eden is writing on a piece of paper concentrating while Ariana stands over her.

    ARIANA - what does it say?

Eden sets down the pen

    EDEN - 1 3 0 2 1, 19, 1975

ARIANA - 1975 sound like a year

EDEN looks closely at the book

    EDEN - and it looks like they separated the numbers 1 3 0 2 1 from 19 and the 19 from 1975.

Ariana looks like she has an idea

    ARIANA - maybe this is like a place we are supposed to get to. 13021 sounds like a zip code.

Eden grabs a laptop that was sitting at the other end of the table and opens it. Eden type a little bit.

    EDEN - We better hope that 1 3 0 2 1 is not a zip code because the 13021 zip code is 3 hours and 57 minutes away

    ARIANA - well maybe it's some kind of address than. Oh try searching the numbers in google maps.

Shows screen typing (13021 19 1975) is the search (no matches)

    ARIANA - Well that didn't work very well.

Eden rests her head on her hand with her elbow on the table for a few seconds, and then starts typing again (13021 19 1975 Auburn NY)

    ARIANA - What makes you think it's in Auburn?

    EDEN - Well it only makes sense they would choose the location that the message was intended for to leave the book.

ARIANA - I almost understood that

EDEN - look results

Eden and Ariana are looking at the laptop ( 1975 19th st)

    ARIANA - Alright! Now we have a street

Eden types in (13021 1975 19th st Auburn NY) it shows the (red pin directly in front of a cemetery)

    ARIANA - A cemetery?

Eden gets an idea look

    ARIANA - What?

    EDEN - maybe that's where the year comes in.

Eden grabs a backpack.

    ARIANA - I'm not following

Eden begins putting the book and box in the backpack

    EDEN - I think that the next clue is at the grave of someone who died in the year 1975.

    ARIANA - First we need to find secret spy clothes

Ariana goes to her bedroom to get dressed while Eden quickly finishes her food. Than Eden goes to get dressed. (viewing their feet walking out the door Gray follows behind them as they go outside, but Eden stops him.)
