Curiosity Killed the Cat (Original Script)

Part 6

Inside Lexi's house

Eden is typing on the computer and Ariana is looking over her shoulder. Lexi is standing a few feet away looking at them.

    LEXI - It's so nice you guys came for a visit, you know I don't have many friends

    ARIANA - Shut up Lauren

    LEXI - It's Lexi

    ARIANA - yeah whatever

Lexi takes a step closer

    LEXI - how did you guys find my house, I only know you from school and I don't remember ever having a conversation with either of you let alone telling you where I live

Eden gives Ariana a questioning look

    EDEN - I thought you said you guys were good friends

    ARIANA - did I say good friends? I meant general audiences.

Eden goes back to typing

    LEXI - what are you guys doing anyways

Eden does not look up or stop typing

    EDEN - top secret can not disclose any information to the general public

Lexi rolls her eyes and crosses her arms

    LEXI - If you won't tell what your doing than I'm going to request that you leave, and if you don't comply I will call the police

Ariana groans in annoyance.

    ARIANA - We're using latitude and longitude numbers we found in a note that the catnappers left because they couldn't find the magical book that randomly appeared in our house.

    LEXI - Fine don't tell me than

Lexi starts dialing the phone. Eden turns around to stop her.

    EDEN - NO, wait, wait, I know she made it sound insane but we are looking for a location that we were requested to meet at to hand over the book.

Lexi crosses her arm and pretends to believe her

    LEXI - What do they want with some dumb book anyways?

    EDEN - This book holds the key to making an atomic bomb capable of destroying entire countries.

Eden pulls out the book to show her the cover. Lexi reaches for it, but Eden pulls it back, and starts to type on the computer again

    LEXI - Well I'm coming with you than

    ARIANA - No. Way.

Lexi uncrosses her arms

    LEXI - Why not? It seems to me that you could use some help.

Ariana stands up straight, and walks in front of her

    ARIANA - This isn't a game, this is serious, and very dangerous.

LEXI - Even a better reason to get some help

Eden finishes up with the computer, and writes down an address. She put the note in her bag and stands up facing Lexi.

    EDEN - I think we could find something for you.

        OUTSIDE

Lexi is now hiding behind a tree holding a walkie talkie. Ariana and Eden are wearing all black, and standing behind a tree of the opposite side of the road as Lexi.

    ARIANA (through walkie-talkie) - come in Lauran do you copy?

    LEXI (not through walkie-talkie) - You like 10 feet away from me you don't have to use the walkie talkie

    ARIANA (to Eden) - I can't do this, she thinks she can do whatever she wants, but we're in charge, and she's going to get us caught! I refuse to work with someone of her lack of obedience! AND I JUST REALIZED THAT WE DON'T HAVE A PLAN!

    EDEN - Ariana chill, let's go back to Lexi's house and come up with a plan, and on the way we can talk about your problem of expecting people to act as your servant

ARIANA - I don't think I'M the one with the problem here Eden.

Lexi crosses her arms and rolls her eyes.

    ARIANA - SHE'S the one who doesn't listen! SHE'S the one with the problem not me!

    EDEN - Oh will you just shut up already! Not everything is going to go your way. Sometimes you just have to be the bigger person.

    ARIANA - Who's side are you on?!

    EDEN - Not on yours that's for sure!

    ARIANA - What happened to being my sister! Sisters are supposed to be there for each other, but you're just a JERK!

Both yelling at this point Lexi just stares.

    EDEN - WELL you know what!? I...*Eden takes a deep breath* Just forget it. We don't have time for this. Come on, let's go.

Eden started to walk away, and Lexi follows

    ARIANA - You think you're so much better than me. You think I'm irrational? Or stupid? *under her breath* You're just like everyone else.

Ariana looks around and realizes that she should probably go with them, and follows behind, still upset.

    Lexi's House

Eden and Lexi are sitting by the computer, Eden printing out a picture of the satellite view of the house they are planning on going to. Ariana is leaning against the wall with her arms folded.

    EDEN - So I was thinking we could split up. Ariana can distract the guys while I go for Gray.

    LEXI - So you're not planning on giving them the book?

    EDEN - No way, the guy that wrote this didn't want them to have it. I don't want to let him down.

Ariana rolls her eyes in the background

    LEXI - Okay what would I do?

    EDEN - Well considering it probably wouldn't be very smart to give Ariana a walkie talkie *interrupted*

    ARIANA (pushes herself off of the wall) - What's that supposed to mean?!

    EDEN (to Ariana) -  If voices started coming out of your pocket while you're talking to the guys, then I'm pretty sure they will figure out that something is up.

Ariana mumbles something and goes back to leaning on the wall

    EDEN (turning back to Lexi) - I was thinking you could watch Ariana from a distance and give me updates on what's happening.

    LEXI - Sounds good to me.
