Curiosity Killed the Cat (Original Script)

Part 7

Eden looks towards Ariana

    EDEN - Ariana?

    ARIANA (says aggressively taking a step towards Eden) - what?

Eden takes a step back.

    EDEN - Are you okay?

    ARIANA - I'm not doing this.

    EDEN - What?

Ariana grabs the book off the table.

    ARIANA - I'm giving them the book, you can get your stupid cat back, and we can all move on with our lives. I'm done.

Ariana starts to leave, and Eden tries to stop her.

    EDEN - Ariana wait

Eden tries to grab Ariana but Lexi stops her.

    LEXI - I think Ariana has the right idea. We don't need to risk our lives to protect some book. It's not our responsibility.

Eden turns and looks at Lexi.

    EDEN - This is what I need to do, and I plan on doing it with or without you and Ariana.

Eden starts to put her stuff in her backpack

    EDEN - So are you coming or not?

    LEXI - I'm in if you are, (pause) but Ariana has the book, and she's already on her way to give it to them. You got a plan to fix that?

Eden holds onto both straps of her backpack.

    EDEN - Nope.

Eden exits. Lexi looks at her as she leaves, than silently follows behind.

    OUTSIDE

Ariana walks up to the front door of the house they were told to meet at. And pulls a note of the door saying "Go to the Back" After reading the note she drops the note by the door and starts to walk around the back. We than see Eden come out from behind a tree in the background and runs behind a different tree in the direction that Ariana went. Lexi stays behind with a walkie talkie.

    Camera moves to the tree Eden is now hiding behind

We see Ariana walking around the side of the house and Eden goes to a closer tree.

    Camera is now at the back door.

Ariana arrives at the back door and looks around before leaning against the house. Eden pokes her head out from behind a tree in the background, than hides again. The sun is now completely set, and the backlight turns on. Startling Ariana, causing her to drop the book. She reaches down to grab it, but someone else grabs it first. Ariana takes a step back. The stranger starts to look through the book.

    STRANGER - You're smarter than I thought you were. What happened to your friend?

    ARIANA (somewhat scared) - she's not my friend.

The stranger finishes looking through the book, and hand it to his colleague whom appeared behind him to take it before slipping back into the darkness.

    STRANGER - where's the box

Ariana takes a step back only to be grabs by another man wearing all black.

    ARIANA - Box?

The stranger takes a step forward.

    STRANGER - Yes, the box. The one that came with the book.

    ARIANA - I don't have it.

The stranger speaks to his college standing behind Ariana

    STRANGER - Search her bag.

The man takes her bag and dumps out its contents in front of them, and rummages through it. After finding nothing he shakes his head and backs away.

    STRANGER - Where is it?

    (View Eden)

    ARIANA (panicking) - I don't have it.

Eden, whom is watching the scene from behind a tree reaches into her pocket.

    STRANGER (now getting angry) - Then who does?

Eden pulls the box out from her pocket.

    ARIANA - (pause) Eden

The stranger takes a deep breath.

    STRANGER - Grab her, we're going inside.

    (Viewing Ariana)

The man behind Ariana grabs her arm as she tries to run, the man who had take the book comes out and grabs Ariana's other arm while she screams. One of the men tie a gag in her mouth and they drag her into the house.
