-Picture of Yazmin-
The next day when I arrived at school I saw Yaz sitting on the ledge of the steps talking to some people. Geez she was already so popular. She looked really good. She wasnt hiding her face and her smile radiated. She had her curly hair in a pony tail with a white Nike hair tie.
I kept my head down and tried to to pass by but she saw me and jumped off to come up to me.
"Hey," She said smiling ear to ear. She handed me a Chick-Fil-A bag.
"Hey, What's this?"
"Soo, remember last night how you told me you really like Chick Fil A breakfast..."
"No you didnt,"
"Yes I did. and I even got the sweet tea lemonade," She handed everything to me and her smile seemed to keep growing.
"Thank you so much," I smiled and she seemed to satisfied.
"You're smile is so pretty," She whispered to herself. I don't think she meant to say it out loud.
"Want to walk with me to class?" I asked.
"Yeah," She followed into the school with me. She always tries her best to make me smile and damn she does a great job. I could feel heads turning in the hall way and I felt uncomfortable. I even saw Jay make a face as we past.
We got into the class room and she sat to talk and eat with me until the bell rung and she went over to her seat.
In the middle of class my phone buzzed. I slightly pulled it out. It was a text from Yaz
"Is it bad that I'm not even a mile away, a yard away from you but I miss you and want to be closer," she put a pink heart with it and I sent one back. God she's really trying to make me fall for her. Little does she know I already am. I felt another buzz. It was her again.
"Dont try to hide that smile of yours," I smiled and shook my head. My phone buzzed one more time and I was ready to smile but instead I got a message from Jay.
"We need to talk, lunch, meet me in the art hall way."
what did I do now.
When lunch finally hit I waited in the art hall for her to show. She finally entered but kept her head low.
"What's wrong," I asked.
"You and Yaz, is that a thing?"
"What?"
"You heard me Bre,"
"No, I don't think so,"
"Do you like her?"
"I don't know Jay,"
"I'm not feeling her Bre. She's a player. She told me about her at her old schools and do you not see how many people want her. She's not the kind of person you need to be with." a mix of emotions flooded me. I was angry because she was saying this stuff but sad because it might be true.
"And who is Jay? You, one of the biggest players in this school," she looked away like I hit a soft spot.
"I wish," she said low.
"Excuse me?"
"I said I wish, I don't think you understand how much I want you and seeing you together this morning set off a feeling I didn't know was there and I know why I cant be with you. I'm not loyal and I seek attention," She looked like she was about to cry.
"What feeling Jay?"
"Jealousy Bre," She came closer to me and gently placed her hand on the side of my face. "If I could be better I would give you the world," My chest dropped. I cant do this right now. a tear dropped and I walked away. I heard her call my name but I kept walking.
I headed to the bathroom. I let a little more tears. I heard foot steps coming into the bathroom. I'm not in the mood for Jay right now. I looked up and It was Yaz. Her eyes widened and she rushed over to me.
"Are you okay?" she asked. Tears fell a little harder and she pulled me into a hug. I cried on her shoulder.
"I cant do this Yaz,"
"Do what?"
"Like you,"
"What?"
"We are two different people. You're this really big popular stud and I'm a nobody. You're going to find a prettier girl, more popular and fits you better,"
"Bre, what's making you say this. After our conversation last night. You still don't get it, You are who I want. I don't want the most popular girl in school. You're gorgeous to me and I will prove it to you. As long as it takes. I felt a connection with you from the jump that I'm not letting go,"
She held me tighter. She wiped my tears away and comforted me. I looked up into her eyes she meant what she was saying. I looked down at her lips and back to her.
I placed my lips onto hers and we kissed until she pulled back.
"You didn't have to do that," she whispered.
"I know. I did it because I wanted too,"

Practice came and as I rolled a mat out I could feel the tension on the basketball court. Jay had an attitude and wasn't talking to Yaz.
I don't know what got into her. Confessing her feeling out the ass because she saw me with Yaz. well there went my 10 minutes of happiness. On the bright side I kissed Yazmin even though she seemed upset with me. Her lips were soft and left me wanting more.
After practice it was raining, I got outside and Yaz pulled her car in front of me.
"You don't have a choice today. It's pouring," I looked up at the roaring sky and got into her car.
"I don't want to go home," I said looking down.
"That's fine with me," She drove off. a few minutes later we pulled up to her house, I assume. It was a townhouse in a suburban neighborhood. she got out and came over to hold an umbrella over my head. We got into the house and she shook the umbrella off. She took her shoes off so I did the same.
"So this is your house,"
"I guess. It's where me and my dad live. Mom left when I was younger,"
"I'm so sorry,"
"No, it's okay."
"Well where is your dad?"
"Not home. He wont be, he usually works all day and night." My stomach started to turn at the thought of being in a house alone with her.
"So we're alone?" I asked looking at the ground and she chuckled. I looked back up to see what was funny.
"No my brother is here. DAMIN!" She called for him.
"WHAT?" I heard a voice from upstairs.
"See, not alone," she said smiling at me. I guess that was supposed to make me feel more comfortable but it didn't.
She started walking up the steps so I did the same. We made it to a room with basketball metals and trophies decorated around the room, along with photographs of her and her friends. She kept the door open and I sat in the chair at her desk. She laid across her bed on her stomach like she was about to fall asleep.
"Get up,"
"Why should I?" She said with her voice muffled by the sheets. I had to think of a good reason why but I didn't have one.
"So that we can talk about what happened earlier," her head turned towards me and she sat up some.
"Alright you have my attention,"
"The kiss, was it bad?"
"No, but I feel like it wasn't the right time. You were upset,"
"So when is the right time?"
"When you're happy and genuinely want to kiss me,"
