12. The Weekend

After a little fun in the dark room we I got all of my stuff and we walked to her car. She looked like she was in a great mood and I was in an even better one.

On the way to the car a kid with a camera came over.

"Hey can I get a picture for the school year book, looks like y'all are in the running for the schools cutes couple," Yaz pulled me close and and I smiled up at her. He flicked the picture on his iphonex

"Yo lemme get those pictures," Yaz said. She walked over and when she came back her smile was even bigger.

"How do they look?" I asked.

"Like my new lock screen," she said winking at me. We got in her car and we drove to her house. I didn't see her brothers. I guess they were still in school or something. I wrapped my arms around her and gave her a kiss.

She pulled back and smiled at me. I heard footsteps coming down the steps and I looked at Yaz. She gave me the same look. Maybe it was her brother.

When they got down the steps I panicked and moved off of her so fast. I looked at her and she was a little shocked but looked confused.

"Dad?" She said.

"Yes," the man said and walked into the kitchen. She followed in behind him and I followed her.

"You off work?" She asked.

"Yeah I wasn't on the schedule for today," He turned around and finally noticed me.

"Who is this?" He asked smiling. Yaz looked a little nervous.

"This is Aubrey, my girlfriend,"

He looked at me and smiled.

"Hi, I'm Jamey, Yazmines father," He stuck his hand out and I shook it.

"Nice to meet you," I said nervous as hell.

He went back to what he was doing then we walked out the kitchen and back up the steps.

"You okay?" She came over and asked me.

"That was nerve wrecking,"

"I know I'm sorry I didn't know he was going to be here. He usually isn't," She looked away. I walked closer to her and gave her a hug.

" Come on lets go watch a movie," I said making her feel better.

"You want pop corn?"

"Hmm. do you have oodles and noodles?" She smiled at me.

"Hell yeah, Come on,"

After she made us noodles we went into her room and turned on a insidious. I hate scary movies but she held me every time I got scared.

"You know we don't have to watch this right?" She said laughing.

"I know but I know you like scary movies," She grabbed the remote and turned the TV off. OHH I am guessing she has better plans.

"Nah, Imma get in the shower and we are going to the movies so you have a few minutes to find out what you want to see," She gave me a kiss and got up. I didn't even have time to respond by the time she ran into the bathroom.

I looked at my phone and I had a text message from Jay.

"We need to talk."

I read it and just locked my phone. I don't have time for this and I damn sure don't have time for Yaz to be mad at me.

We got to the movies and my manager waved at me. I waved back and we talked for a little while. We got free tickets and She reminded me that I am on the schedule for tomorrow. I left her and we walked over to get pop corn and snacks.

"Hey, can I get a large pop corn, sour patch kids, and the crunch a bunches," Yaz said to one of my co workers.

"Anything else?" She asked.

"You want anything else?" She asked me.

"A large slushy cherry and blue raspberry mix," I said.

"Got it," She put the order in. "One large pop corn," she said loud for someone in the back to help and she reached to get the candies.

When the person from the back came out I almost had a heart attack.

It's my ex.

Cameron.

She looked at me and licked her lips then looked at yaz. She looked away and went to make the pop corn.

I had no idea she was back from college. The girl handed Yaz the slushy cup and I slowly hid behind her.

"What's wrong?" She asked and I didn't respond.

"Here you go," Cameron gave her the popcorn and looked at me one more time. I took the slushy cup from Yaz and went to go make it.

I took a second to slow my breathing down because I felt like I was about to have a panic attack.

Cameron was probably on the best and worst things that happened to me.

We had a thing when I was a sophomore and she was a senior. She was the 'bad boy' type, quiet and speaks with her eyes. We had fundamentals of art together and she would always flirt with me. Being young I loved getting that from an older girl and newly coming out to my parents I felt even better about it.

I gave her all of my time and we dated for almost a year. I loved her so deeply and she loved me back, so I thought. We fought a lot over the girls and the messages in her phone but she always tried to tell me that it was nothing to worry about. Well about two months before our one year I caught her fucking a junior I was close with in her car.

I think I was so angry because she was my first everything with a girl. I had just recently gave it up to her about a week before I caught her but I guess it wasn't enough for her. She told me that even though she wasn't faithful sexually she new I was a perfect girlfriend and that when she grows up she is coming back to cuff me. I never believed her but seeing her today really shook me up. I always try my hardest to stay away from the movies around this time of the year but I completely forgot because of Yaz.

"What was that back there?" Yaz asked as she rubbed my back. She is so fucking caring.

"Uhm- that girl- the one with the short cut. She is my ex,"

I had told Yaz before during one late night convo about her and the situation. Yaz looked back with a mug on her face.

"Want me to kick her ass?" She said and I laughed. I cant really see yaz hurting anyone but it was cute of her to say.

"No baby, come on," I smiled and finished getting the slushy. We walked to the movie and took a seat in the back.
