It's Saturday morning and I told myself that I would go to the gym. It's down the street from my house and i'm tired of paying for the membership and now going. I put on a hoodie and black shorts. I put my hair in a high pony tail because I straightened it last night.

Why? might you ask, because tonight is the art showcase. Yaz told me she couldnt make it because something came up with her family and my mom has to take Lyric to a birthday party. It sucks but I hope it wont be my last one. Oh yeah. my mom finally told me why my dad hasnt been home in almost two months. Him and my mother are getting a divorce. I didnt tell anyone yet because I dont want to think about it.

I got to the gym and it was practically empty. I signed in and went to the cardio machines. I looked over at the weight section of the gym and saw Jay. She was lifting and curling weights. I guess I was staring too hard because she looked up and saw me.

She smiled and I had to keep my hormones under control. She stood up and I had to look away. She was only in a sports bra and black sweatpants. she was carrying her shirt around and she had a hat on.

She was sweating and her muscles were pulsing. I havent seen her with her shirt off since we were freshman and trust me. It didnt look like that. She posts many things on soical media but I cant say her stomach is one.

"Hey," She said making her way over to me.

"Hi,"

"You finally came to work out," she took a seat at the machine next to me. I got on mine and pretended to know what I was doing.

"Yeah, figured why not go if i'm paying for a membership,"

"yeah, how have you been," I looked over at her and had to once again look away.

"Good, just cheer and school,"

"You're a great cheerleader. I told you you were going to be,"

"Thank you, but how have you been?" she so sweet.

"Uhm good actually. I'm alot more clear minded and focused," I could feel her looking at me.

"Yeah, well you did great at the game on Monday,"

"couldnt do it without the cheer teams support," I looked over at her.

"Oh im sure you could have,"

"You're right I could, But its nice to have y'all," She laughed.

"See told you,"

"Yeah, yeah, how is mom and dad?" I didnt know how to answer that question. She knew they argued a lot but I never thought that it would go that far.

"Uhm he's leaving," I said soft making sure not to make eye contact with her.

"What, I'm sorry," She came closer and gave me a hug. I felt a tear drop and I stood up. I walked into the bathroom and she followed.
