"Good morning Laura!" I sat up in my bed and yawned.

What? No good morning for me?

Fine, you too Karisa.

Since I had done so well yesterday, Derik had given me today off. But, he still expected me to practice a little.

"I'm thirsty..." I mumbled.

I grabbed and empty glass of water and filled it up with my powers, making Karisa grunt with annoyance.

"What?" I asked her, taking a long drink.

Don't show off! She scolded.

Well sorry, I just found out I have powers!

Karisa snorted inside my head.

Why are you so grumpy all the time?

I must have pushed a wrong button because Karisa yelled, You wanna know why? I was dying. I had lived my life. And then your father came along and put my essence inside my horn where I had been eating for hundreds of years! And I finally get to do something other than ponder, and its sit inside your head and watch you fill up glasses of water with magic!

Laura jumped as she shouted, she could hear Karisa screaming in my head as well.

You hate me because your bored?

No! When I died I could have been reborn as a baby unicorn, with no memories...but he chose to keep me as I was, for memories! I could have learned, I could have been fighting my sister instead of sitting here in your head.

Wait, your sister?

Oops. I wasn't supposed to tell you that...

You have a sister?

Yes. And maybe you should know. How I died I mean. This memory I am about to send you is something you must share with no one outside this room.

I understand.

Here we go.

I felt a dizzying sensation then blacked out.

~Karisa's POV (memory)~

I raced over a log, jumping as a middle of dark magic raced past my flanks. Cackling laughter sounded behind me and I pushed harder.

"Come back Karisa!" Maliciously yelled the beast behind me.

I turned and looked, she was catching up. She was a unicorn, a dark unicorn with gleaming red eyes. She was also my sister.

"Never Asirak!" Oh how I hated my name. Asirak and I were twin unicorns of different power plots though, so Asirak's name was turned around to form mine.

I jumped over another log and gave sunlight to a nearby tree, making it grow larger than normal, to block Asirak's path.

Her laugh sounded again and I heard the tree wilt, than fall behind me.

As I tried to clear the third log, I felt a pinprick sensation on my flank. I looked back to see a dainty moon fairy flicking me with a needle, a needle with a green poison on it. A very familiar moon fairy...

Wait a minute! I shook my head and we were launched out of the memory.

~Faith's POV~

I wasn't upset that Karisa launched me out of the memory. I was astounded at what I saw.

I felt dizzy, so I shook my head a few times to clear it.

That fairy? I asked.

She's so familiar... Karisa thought. I could almost just see her pacing inside my mind.

Cynthia! We both thought at the same time.

I snapped my head up. "We need to find my father." I started to head for the door but Laura, in a flash of blue, blocked my path.

Wait, Cynthia could have changed! Laura pointed out.

We will have to pay attention to her. And can we see the rest of the memory? I asked Karisa.

Indeed.

This time, I was ready for the sensation and braced myself before I blacked out.

~Faith's POV (of the memory)~

Karisa collapsed instantly, the dark unicorn approaching fast.

'Lovely' I thought.

"Asirak..." Karisa muttered.

Asirak. An evil name for an evil unicorn.

The fairy flew up beside Karisa. It was definitely Cynthia.

"You thought you could save the world from the wonderful darkness....Well you were wrong..." The fae cackled.

"Never..." Snarled Karisa.

"Well, well, well..." Asirak walked up. "It's sad you had to die like this..."

I looked away as I saw Asirak's horn coming down and I heard Karisa scream. When I turned back to look, all that was left was her glowing horn.

My vision became fuzzy, and my eyes were looking at the tents walls once more.

And that's when your father found me. Said Karisa.

Karisa... I thought, determinedly. We can defeat Asirak, but we have to defeat her together, this won't work if our minds are distant.

I agree.... Karisa responds.

As if we had practiced this before our minds became one and I transformed into the limber unicorn that was Karisa.

We reared, and let out a long neighborhood that brought my dad rushing in. He paled instantly when he walked in.

"Faith...." He said his eyes wide. "Stay calm.

No. We said.

"What?" My dad asked.

No. We repeated.

Realization dawned and my father's eyes grew wider.

"This...this is...fantastic.." He said in awe.

We smirked and our minds separated smoothly, and I was myself again.

So what if I had to kill an evil unicorn. I had something no one would have expected. I had Karisa.
