As though Arlo can feel my stare, he stops talking and turns to look over Dylan's shoulder but I look away.

✦✧✦

His dark hair is a perfect mess pushed away from his forehead and he looks so suave in a black acid wash jean jacket, cigarette in hand with his jaw clenched in what I recognise as agitation. Attached to his arm is a skinny girl with dyed maroon hair and choppy edges that stand out severely against her pasty skin. Her thick framed glasses are perched on the bridge of her nose as she bats her false lashes up at Nars. She's wearing a red halter top, black leather shorts and matching knee high leather heeled boots.

So he has a girlfriend? I don't doubt that he could, he's too good looking not to but the sight of the girl hanging off his arm is cringe worthy. His eyes sweep the shop but I avert my eyes not wanting to be caught staring. I feel his heavy stare on me for a short moment before I hear Makoto walk over to them, drawing his attention. She makes small talk with him and I can tell it isn't his first time here.

I hear him speak to her in low tones. It's the first time I ever hear him speak. I don't know what to think of his voice but I know that the first time I heard it, I wished I could bottle it up and have it replay over and over just for me. The strange looking girl he has stuck to his side has a shrill voice and I resist the urge to cover my ears so obviously. Makoto returns to the counter and they walk over to a table across from me at the most poorly lit corner of the café. I go on typing despite my curiosity, I can't get ahead of myself.

My phone buzzes again and I'm startled for some reason. Glancing at it, I find that it's Dylan saying they're back and he's got my lunch. My lips go into their customary almost smile as I text him back.

I'm about to tap send when I hear another ding and I lift my head to see Dylan sauntering in. I'm confused for a short moment, how did he find me? I never told him I was here but I realise he might have come here for Nars instead. I need to stop calling him that.

Dylan doesn't seem to notice me so I don't say anything to him as he goes over to Arlo, yelling a 'hey' to Makoto who just tells him to keep it down while he's here. I don't doubt that this is a regular spot for him too.

Dylan goes over to Arlo, who's not even pretending to be paying attention to his companion as she talks and leans up against him. He just walks over there, he doesn't even try to look around the room. That idiot. He says a few words to Arlo when he gets over to him. I'm glad though because I just want to watch them from across the room. I admit I'm a bit curious.

They look serious as they talk and the girl just sits there glaring oddly at Dylan. She says something with a snarl on her face to Dylan and Arlo says something to her before Dylan can. The next thing I know she's on her feet. She's saying something indistinct to Arlo then she's flipping Dylan. Next thing I know she's stumping out of Komorebi and slamming the glass door behind her. Dylan laughs, yelling after her something along the lines of "Sayonara Puta!".

I choose that moment to text Dylan.
