Eliza's pov
Alex and I sit in the waiting room waiting for Arizona to get out of surgery. Amelia comes over after what seems like forever and gives me a reassuring smile. "She's fine Eliza. She had traumatic brain injury. I operated and it's gone. She sustained a concussion as well, but will be fine. She musta fallen or hit her head on something." Amelia says. "Can I see her?" I ask. "She's asleep but yes. Room 101." Amelia says. "Ok thank you so much. I wouldn't know what to do without her." I say, hugging Amelia. "You and me both. Now go see your girl." Amelia urges, breaking the hug and gently pushing me into the direction of room 101. "Go Eliza. I'll check on you two later." Alex says. I nod and enter Arizona's room, closing the door behind me. She is laying there, paler than the sheets. Oh god. I pace back and forth as I wait for her to wake up. I know Amelia said she's going to be fine, but I still worry she won't wake up. I sit in the chair by her bed and take her hand in mine. I start to sing to her like I always do when she is hurting.
Loving and fighting
Accusing, denying
I can't imagine a world with you gone
The joy and the chaos, the demons we're made of
I'd be so lost if you left me alone
You locked yourself in the bathroom
Lying on the floor when I break through
I pull you in to feel your heartbeat
Can you hear me screaming, "please don't leave me"
Hold on, I still want you
Come back, I still need you
Let me take your hand, I'll make it right
I swear to love you all my life
Hold on, I still need you
Long endless highway, you're silent beside me
Driving a nightmare I can't escape from
Helplessly praying, the light isn't fading
Hiding the shock and the chill in my bones
They took you away on a table
I pace back and forth as you lay still
They pull you in to feel your heartbeat
Can you hear me screaming, "please don't leave me"
Hold on, I still want you
Come back, I still need you Let me take your hand, I'll make it right
I swear to love you all my life
Hold on, I still need you
I don't wanna let go
I know I'm not that strong
I just wanna hear you
Saying baby, let's go home
Let's go home
I just wanna take you home
Hold on, I still want you
Come back, I still need you

I finish the song and lay my head, resting it on her thigh, closing my eyes, falling into an uneasy sleep.

Arizona's pov
I wake up and open my eyes, blinking as the bright lights of the room blind me. Once I adjust to the light, I glance down and see a dark head of hair and the sleeping face of my fiancé. I smile at Eliza and run my hands through her hair. She stirs and opens her eyes. "Arizona?!" She asks, her voice groggy with sleep. "Hi love." I say, smiling at her as she lifts her head. "Come here. Just hold me for a bit." I say, scooting over and patting the spot next to me. She takes off her sneakers before climbing into bed and gently wrapping me in her strong arms. "What happened? I don't remember anything after I went upstairs to use the bathroom." I ask. "You fell and hit your head on the counter. I broke the door down and called 911. Amelia operated on the brain bleed you sustained. You're going to be fine." Eliza soothes. "I love you. I'm sorry for scaring you." I say. "I love you too and don't apologize. I'm just relived your ok." Eliza comforts, placing a kiss on my head. "Were you alone? If I find out not one of our friends stayed with you whilst I was in surgery..." I start, but am interrupted.  "Alex stayed with me whilst you were in surgery. He's a good kid, Ar. He cares about you a ton." She reassures me. "Ok. Good. Yeah he's like a brother to me. You should page Amelia and tell her I'm awake." I suggest. Eliza nods and pages Amelia who comes into the room. "Hey. I see someone's awake. How's your head? Any nausea or pain?" She asks. "No I feel fine. A little sore but I'll be fine." I say. "Ok good. Your pupils aren't dilated and the CT we took after surgery was clean. You can go home tomorrow." Amelia says. She says goodbye and leaves for she has other patients to check on. "You scared me Arizona. Please don't ever leave me." Eliza begs, tears forming in her mysterious eyes. "I won't baby. I'm sorry I scared you. You're stuck with me forever and always." I smirk, pulling Eliza in for a soft kiss. We break apart for air and lay in each other's arms. "I should text my parents and let them know what happened." I say. "Yeah that's a good idea. Here." Eliza says, handing me my phone. "Thanks baby." I say, kissing her head before proceeding to unlock my phone and text my parents. I lock the phone and place it on the bedside table before pulling Eliza into my arms. "I love you. I can't wait to marry you," She whispers softly, tickling my ear with her warm breath. "I love you too. I can't wait to be your wife." I exclaim happily, running my fingers through her dark long locks. Her eyes are heavy. She probably didn't sleep well whilst I was under anesthesia. I know I wouldn't if our roles were reversed. "Sleep El. I've got you. I'm ok." I soothe, rocking her gently in my arms. She closes her eyes and uses my chest as a pillow. I hum a lullaby as she slowly drifts off into a calm, restful sleep.
