"What... how are you..." Xavier said, but he still walked to her. Yuna wrapped her arms around the back of his neck as she kissed him, shivering as he clutched her to him.

He clung to her like she was his lifeline, refusing to let the kiss go. The only woman he had ever truly loved was in his arms, and nothing else mattered.

"My power is gone, but... I just remember waking up in the ground and struggling to crawl my way out," Yuna murmured. "I remember breaking free of a bigger entity."

Xavier just closed his eyes and quietly held onto her. She rubbed into him, her soft brown hair brushing his neck. He twirled the ends of her hair around his fingers as he pressed his lips to the side of her head. Yuna looked up at him, resting her hands apon his chest.

"Will you tell me what's happened?" She pleaded softly.

"Alex's daughter is in this castle, betrothed to the prince," Xavier explained. "She seems to have gained some control of her power, but when she gets upset, its like electricity is shocking the room."

"Scott's power, no doubt," Yuna inputted. He nodded slightly and ran his thumbs over her hips. "Who else's has she taken?"

"Yours, and Adelaide's," he replied. "I fear the day we see Adelaide's flames."

"And Alex's ice?" The witch questioned.

"Alex is still quite alive. A published poet, at that," Xavier said. Yuna frowned in response.

"If the power travels from her to Alex... or Alex dies and the last of the power goes to her, either way we could have total annihilation on our hands," she said softly.

"What if we found a way to contain it?" Xavier suggested. Yuna furrowed her eyebrows slightly and thought on it, looking to the side.

"I'll see if I can find something," the witch promised. She put her hand to Xavier's face and smiled gently before starting to step away.

"Little witch, who said I was finished with you?" The demon asked, grinning. Yuna gasped as he grabbed her and lifted her into his arms.

"Xavier, I have to go back to the kitchen!" She protested. Xavier set her on the bed and pressed his lips to her neck, his teeth nipping at her skin. "Xavier!"

"It has been seventeen years since I was satisfied," he murmured into her neck, breathing in her nutmeg scent. "You would deny me?"

Yuna made a soft sound as Xavier kissed her deeply, feeling his tongue brush along hers. She missed him, missed touching him, missed everything.

When she woke up and looked at that grave, stems of flowers were tangled in her hair, and two books rested inside. So much care rested in that grave, and she knew that her death had impacted him. Even as she coughed up dirt, even as she gasped for air after escaping from that darkness inside Adelaide's child, she could comprehend that much.

"Xavier, what is this?" Yuna asked quietly, lifting her hand to show the ring still resting on her finger. His face softened as he kissed her hand, holding it in his own.

"I'll tell you another time," he whispered.

Yuna smiled slightly and kissed the demon softly, getting out of the bed. She crossed to the door and rested her hand apon the knob.

"I promise I will see you when I can," she said.

"Hopefully soon, little witch, or I might come hunting," Xavier grinned, making her laugh as she left the room.

Iris woke from an unsteady sleep to the sound of sharp taps on her door. Sleep hadn't come easy, not when the memory of Jason's fangs piercing the girl's throat rang through her mind again and again.
