Iris couldn't feel her legs. She was still aching from Jason's recent lovemaking. He had his nose burried into her neck, and was contentedly sleeping with his arms around her. She smiled and turned over. Other than Axel stumbling in on them, yesterday had been perfect. She kissed Jason, nuzzling him affectionately.
He cracked his eyes open and grinned at her. Iris squeaked as Jason moved back on top of her.
"Good morning, my beautiful queen," he purred, pressing his lips against her neck. Iris held tightly to him and giggled. They nuzzled each other, completely bound together in bliss. Even still, she didn't think that she could take a fresh round of Jason's love.
"I'm so tired," Iris sighed out, turning her head to the side and resting her hand on the pillow next to them.
"Get some rest, love," he murmured. Jason kissed the side of her head before he rose. He pulled on his pants, gathering a shirt from the drawers.
"Please don't kill my brother. He doesn't know about... well much about anything really," Iris pleaded. Jason's eyes grew cold, his expression stiff. He seemed to be holding back several remarks on exactly what he thought of her twin. "Jason..."
Jason gave her a curt nod before walking out of the room and down the stairs.
Axel glanced up from where he was picking at his eggs and toast. Apon seeing the scruffy-looking vampire, he quickly directed his gaze back to his breakfast. He felt the hair on the back of his neck rise as Jason stalked around him. Axel dared to look at the man and paled when he met his glaring eyes.
He opened his mouth to speak, but no words would come. Jason's handsome features were hardened by anger. Axel wondered if the vampire his sister loved would throttle him then and there. He did seem to be considering it as he stormed about the small kitchen, taking some of the toast and eggs that Evelyn had cooked for himself.
"Where's Iris?" Axel finally choked out. Jason fixed him with an--if possible-- even more hostile look and put his plate down on the table furiously.
"Upstairs," he spat at him. Axel recoiled into silence. He was now uneasy about finishing his own breakfast. Jason remained glowering at him as he aggressively chewed, amber eyes burning. Iris' brother gulped and tried again.
"Is she hurt?"
The question seemed to infuriate the vampire more, for he threw his toast back onto his plate and banged his hand against the table.
"What kind of damn question is that?!" Jason yelled. Axel felt his own anger ignite and glared back.
"Well you were the one with your fangs in my sister's neck last night!" He snarled, shoving himself to his feet.
"She's perfectly fine!"
"Perfectly fine?! You had her for dinner!"
"Iris gave her consent! She knows that I'll keep her safe, unlike you!"
Axel ripped a knife from the placemat just as Evelyn stormed into the room. His older sister slammed her hands on the table and glared at them.
"Stop it! Both of you!" Snarled the assassin.
"If it weren't for you, my child would still be alive!" Jason shouted. Evelyn had to brace her hands against the vampire's chest to keep him from lunging at Axel. "You left me for dead!"
"And how did Adelaide know I had Iris, huh?!" Axel asked hotly. "You gave up our position to save your own skin, didn't you?!"
"Shut it!" Evelyn demanded. Her emerald eyes burned with fury, and despite it, Jason still retorted.
