The smell of bacon rises into my nose, and I wake up almost instantaneously. I groggily sit up in the bed, and rub my eyes. For a second, I almost forgot where I was, but then I remembered. In my head, I recall all the events that happened yesterday. It almost seems like too much, and that it did'nt really happen, but of course it did.

I sit up, get out of bed, and throw on my clothes. I hope at least one of the guys in this house wears the same size as I do, because these clothes are getting pretty beaten up. The idea of maybe looting a store pops into my head. It isn't illegal anymore, right?

I walk downstairs, and into the kitchen. Sitting at the table is Hershel, Brooke, and Carl, and they all seem to be very invested into a particular card game that i can't remember the name of. Salmon? No, that just sounds stupid. But I'lll also sound stupid if I ask. I glance over to the counter, and an assortment of eggs, bacon, and toast lay atop. I gather some of each onto a single plate, and sit myself onto the extra chair at the table.

I start to speak up. ''Hey...'' I say, but none of them pay any attention to me. ''Is stealing... Well... Is stealing still illegal?'' I ask them, and I immediately feel embarrassed. They all start laughing, and Hershel sets down his cards. ''Boy, have you not seen this world?'' He asks, and he gestures towards the window above the sink. ''There's no government, no laws. Do whatever you please.''  He tells me, and they get back into their game of cards.

''That's good I guess. I was planning on going looking for some new clothes. Mine are pretty beat up.'' I tell them, and I take a bite of bacon. Brooke looks up at me. ''You're not going alone, are you?'' She asks. I get up, clean my plate in the sink, and put it in a dish drier. ''Well yeah, that's what I was planning on.'' I tell her, and she shakes her head. ''You can't go alone. You'll get lost. Do you even know where you're going?'' I shake my head to signify I don't. ''I'll go with you than. We'll leave in 10 minutes, be ready.'' She adds, and I walk out of the room.

      Brooke's Point of View.

I mean, the boy was lost out in the woods for 4 months. I could'nt just let him go alone! He'd be lost again. But then again, would that be too bad? I mean we don't even know him, but he just barges into our group and now everyone loves him! Except for me and Carl of course. Carl has this weird hatred for him that I don't understand, and he wont tell me why. Maybe they fought or something. Whatever it is, it still doesn't change the fact that Aaron is already late. What could he be doing? Changing clothes? That's what this is for.

The front door bursts open, and he comes walking out, fire poker in hand. ''You still use that shit?'' I ask him, and he raises it up, asking me if that's what he means. ''Never mind, but you're late. C'mon.'' I tell him, and he comes walking to me, and we take off together. ''You know where we're going today?'' I ask him, and he shakes his head. ''The mall!''  He looks at me suspiciously. ''The mall?'' He asks, and I nod. Whats wrong with the mall? ''We are literally in the middle of no where. We're gonna be walking all day!'' He adds, putting emphasis on the word ''literally.''

''Just follow me, dumb ass.'' I tell him, and I keep walking. Wow, this boy doesn't understand anything, does he? I lead him around the house, and towards the driveway. We turn the corner, and walk towards my car. I look back at him, and his mouth is wide open. ''Yeah, we're really gonna be walking all day!'' I say with a pouty face, just to make him mad. ''Whi-which ones yours?'' He asks, and I point towards my flat black Camaro. I hear him gasp from behind me. ''Yeah, I know right? Got it for my seventeenth birthday just a few months before everything went down.'' I tell him, making sure I'm bragging. ''C'mon, lets get going.'' She says, and we walk towards the car.

      Aaron's Point of View.

I open up the passenger side door, and step in. The interior is still perfectly amazing, and somehow very clean. Brooke gets into the drivers seat, and starts the car. We start driving, starting slow, and getting faster and faster, until we're going 85 down an empty road. She looks over at me. ''On this run, we will stick together. Got it?'' She asks, and I nod my head. ''And please, don't do anything stupid.'' She adds, and the deserted road we were on turns into a large highway, and in the distance I see a ginormous building that's extremely familiar. I used to come here all the time before the apocalypse, and now I'm back.

The giant mall cuts a giant area out of the middle of woods, with roads running up and down past it for miles, with more buildings and businesses on those. More and more deserted cars appear until the roads almost too crowded to navigate. Brooke has to weave and slide through cars, and the occasional infected. It seems pretty suspicious though. All these cars and only a few infected.

We finally reach the mall parking lot, and it's deserted. I guess in their final ours, no one decided to come get 50% off deals on carpets and whatever else they wanted. Brooke pulls up in front of one of the entrances - a JCPenny's, - and she stops the car. ''We'll start here, and work our way through the mall to wherever we wanna go.'' She tells me, and we enter the unlocked doors into the mall.

All the lights are off, but it's okay because the light from the many entrances on each side of the store fills the dark area with brightness. ''Men's section?'' I ask, and she nods. We walk towards it, and Brooke starts explaining a game to me. ''Every article of clothing one of us picks out, the other gets to ask that person a question.'' She tells me, and it actually sounds kind of fun. ''Okay. Should we start with jeans?'' I ask, and she shrugs.

We walk over to the pants, and I start searching through them for my size, while she watches guard. I pull a pair of jeans off a shelf, and I hear footsteps nearby. ''Brooke!'' I call out to her, and she turns around from her position about 10 meters away. ''You hear that?'' I ask, and she shakes her head. I guess it was in my mind. I go back to picking out jeans, but Brooke grabs my shoulder from behind. ''What?'' I ask, turning around, but it's not Brooke, it's an infected. It tackles me to the ground, and keeps puts it's hand over my mouth.

A sudden realization comes to mind. ''No!'' I try to shout, but the cannibal's hand is pressed tightly against my mouth, so no sound escapes. ''Shhhhhh.'' He says, looking straight into my eyes. ''Just let it happen.'' He adds, and he lowers his mouth to my neck, ready to take a bite.
