We were walking to Drake’s house when we stopped in front of the school. It was dark out, but not pitch black. It was either really early or not that late. I had no idea what time it was, and that made me really worried because I didn't exactly get that much sleep...
“Ezami, do you know what time it is?” I asked, and Ezami shrugged. We waited there for a while until they saw students start to show up. Really early.
“Oh, I’m going to be a cranky bitch today.” I yawned, covering my mouth with my hand.
“I’m sorry.” Ezami whined as we walked inside. “Hey, you stay, I’ll catch up with you later.” Ezami told me as she waved and walked the other direction.
“Um, okay…” I trailed as I felt hands on my shoulder, which made me jump.
“Oh my God, you disappeared again!” Nicole screamed angrily. “You’ve got to stop doing that.”
“I’m sorry! I don’t know when I’m going to be gone!” I exclaimed as we headed towards the cafeteria and waited to go to Advisory.
“Hey, did you get the Algebra last night? I don’t get it.” Nicole asked me, but took it back quickly. I wasn’t even there!
“Nicole, sometimes you are such a blonde.” I laughed as Nicole’s face lit up in anger. Austin soon arrived, and, of course, Aaron.
“Oh my God, you ran off again.” Aaron said as he squished himself between Nicole and I.
“I’m sorry…” I trailed sarcastically. Can't he just get the hint that we really wanted him to go away?
“You better be. Dad was getting pissed again. At least warn us!” Aaron exclaimed, and Nicole and Austin both had confused expressions on their faces.
“Don’t ask.” I said simply. They shrugged like it was no big deal. “What’s today?” I asked the group.
“Date or Day?” Nicole asked.
“Day.” I clarified.
“Today’s B-day, unfortunately. I still don’t understand Algebra!” Nicole exclaimed. Austin started cracking up.
“I hope you get it.” Aaron whispered to me. “You’re failing math in both worlds.”
“Shut up!” I ordered angrily.
“Hey, yesterday we were assigned projects. You work with a partner.” Austin told us.
“In what class?” I asked worriedly.
“English.”
I sat there for a second. English project? What about Drake? Who would I be with? Oh God, please don’t have Vicky and Drake pair up!
“…Calia!” Nicole exclaimed, waving a hand in front of my face. “Don’t space out on us.”
“I’m sorry. I’m just not in it today.” I shrugged.
“Well, get in it.” Aaron said, almost demanding. I looked at him questioningly. The bell rang for Advisory, so we all headed our ways. Aaron and I were in our seats when Vicky approached me.
“We get English partners today, so you better watch out. It will be me and Drake, even in his condition.” Vicky laughed as she knelt down to my eye level, dark brown eyes staring right into mine. “Even you can’t keep us apart, but I'm not that worried because you keep disappearing randomly for no reason.”
“Maybe I can't keep you two apart, but his coma can.” I retorted as Vicky expressed a disgusted face.
“You’re just jealous that he’ll eventually fall for me when he realizes I’m his better match.” Vicky said, ready to snap her hand across my face again, but a hand caught her wrist. It was Aaron’s.
