Why did I come to this horrible place where I am now forced to reside in? It once was a choice...now, it is a forceful way of life. But I must learn how to put one foot in front of the other for myself...because I deserve to survive this. I can't and I won't give up. I hold onto the shred of hope that: There is a way out.
Standing chained in what seemed to be a cage in a dungeon of some sort, I knew I was in Italy inside of Volterra. I knew my parents were dead, but one thing that I still couldnt understand to this day, was why would they trade me in? Why would they want to become vampires, it killed them anyways, what was the difference? They betrayed their 5-year-old daughter!
After this, I wasnt sure if I was going to be able to trust again. I wasnt sure how long I had been down here, it could've been years for all I know.
As I heard the cage door opening, I knew it was time again. I let out a big sigh as I saw the newcomer was as tiny as I used to be, with lank, pale brown hair trimmed short. The body under the cloak—which was dark, almost black—was slim and androgynous. But the face was too pretty for a boy. The wide-eyed, full lipped face would make a Botticelli angel look like a gargoyle. Even allowing for the dull crimson irises it was the vampire known as Jane, her abilities could cause crippling pain to anyone that asked for it.
Hanging there, I knew my life was coming to an end. As she stepped slightly into the light, I could see her crimson eyes. They didnt terrify me as much as they had the first time I had seen her features, or anyone else's eyes of her kind. Full of hunger, it was feeding time.
I seemed to be the only one in this dungeon, my body was barely warm, but as she walked up to me, she rested only one of her dainty hands on my ribs, she squeezed slightly.
Are you going to make any noise today? You know I dont like it when you do... I tried to make out a plea but my voice wouldnt allow it, she seemed to have a sinful smirk on her face, as I felt her teeth sink into my bicep. Pain. I let out an ear piercing scream, but I regretted it in an instant as I felt her hand tightening around my ribs. I felt them shatter on my left side.
You stupid..stupid human. Jane snarled at me. Her hand tightening harder as I tried to keep my screams to myself, not wanting to be punished any longer. After she realized that I was going to keep quiet, she let go of me, throwing me to the ground with a roll of her eyes.
To her, it was not fun to punish her food unless they were screaming in pain...She left after that, and I was surprised with her quick departure. Jane would usually be around for an hour or more, not only a few moments of her time...
I laid on the floor, positive that this was the end of my road, that soon Id no longer know the feeling of this cruel life I had been placed into. I coughed up a small amount of blood onto the cold cemented floor.

Carlisle had been upstairs, not aware of the dying girl down in the basement of Volterra, as he only drank animals' blood. As Jane came up from downstairs, he faintly noticed a scent of blood lingering on the female's form. She looked towards Carlisle and smirked the same sinful grin she had given to the pathetic human moments ago.
Carlisle, there is a medical deed down in the basement I need you to look after. Please go handle that now. Jane seemed ever so pleased with herself. She addressed Carlisle as if he was nothing but a mere, insignificant mortal to her.
He sighed and nodded in her direction, grabbing his medical gear reluctantly.
Heading to the elevator they had, he made his way down to the basement. Once he reached it, the smell of human blood overpowered any other smell. He frowned. It was easy for Carlisle to not want to suck blood, he always thought of leaving the Volturi for the fact that he wanted to help people, and become a doctor of some sorts.
