A few centuries had past since Lilith was on her own. Every time she looked down at the bite mark in between her thumb and index finger she would smile at the undeniable happiness Carlisle Cullen had given her that day. A brand new life to live as her own.
She knew Carlisle wanted to become a doctor. She spent her days walking up and down the halls of the hospital in Chicago. Lilith knew somewhere along the way they would find each other, but she didnt have a single clue that- that day was tonight.

Carlisle had been working night shifts in a Chicago hospital during the Spanish Influenza epidemic. Lilith roamed the halls in hope to see him again, as she heard a lady talking to what sounded like Carlisle. It seemed she was begging him to save her son, Edward.
Please Dr. Cullen! Please do anything within your power to save my son! Lilith stood out of the way watching the two converse. She slipped in behind Carlisle.
Dont worry Mrs. Masen, Doctor Cullen will do all he can to save your son. She smiled as Carlisle looked at her. His eyes filled with joy to know she was alive and well. Carlisle smiled at her.
This is my daughter, Lilith. Mrs. Masen you have nothing to worry about." The vampire explained reassuringly.
They both headed out of the room to a more private place, as Carlisle looked at her and hugged her tightly.
Im glad you're okay, Lilith. How have you been holding up here? In Chicago, I mean? He smiled brightly, his tone soft and pleased.
Ive been doing okay... Hunting animals hasnt been easy, but Im okay now." Lilith replied, feeling happy. She was curious about the previous lady, so she dropped their previous subject.
"Sooo...what do you plan to do with Mrs. Masens son? She looked up questioningly. Carlisle looked conflicted.
Im going to change him into one of us..." Carlisle paused cautiously, trying to find the right words. "Im here to help people and his mother isnt going to survive the Spanish Influenza, unfortunately..." A hurt look flashed in his eyes. "It would be sad to see such a young man die at the expense of a disease. He sighed rubbing his head. Lilith took a moment, contemplating her next words carefully.
Well thats good Carlisle! You're making your family bigger. Teaching a better way to live then the Volturi are. She smiled sweetly at the man that she now looked up to as a father. In her life, it was all she had. Her positiveness seemed to warm him up. He nodded slowly.
I should head over there now and get it over with...You can wait here. He smiled and hugged her one last time. Lilith whispered a few encouraging words into his ear before he left. She knew it will be hard for him to transform Edward. Would he like it on not...? She moved to seat down on a chair and wait for Carlisle.

As he had walked back in, she looked at him. Lilith got on her feet, her eyes alert. She glanced at him, taking in his tired features. How did it go, Carlisle, do you think he will make it? Her eyes sparkled.
He will make it through. I bit his neck...Im sure it'll take a day or two and he will be turned... He smiled at her and looked down. They changed subjects quickly as Lilith sensed his discomfort.
What have you been up to for the past few decades? She grinned at Carlisle as he asked that question to take some time away.
I havent done much. I started high school and taught myself how to hunt animals. Done some reading... drawing She ran a hand through her hair, looking off into the distance.
