The 9 hour flight Montey was mostly passed out for. But closer to the end of it's long journey she woke, Markus sitting beside her bed reading a book.

"Tough sleep?" Markus asks as Montey slowly rose from her slumber. She rubbed her eyes and then glared at Markus oddly.

"What are you doing in here?" Montey asks and looks around. Markus folds his book closed and looks up at Montey.

"You passed out so quick I wanted to make sure you were okay when you woke up. We are 2 hours out from Italy." He says and this perked Montey up the most, but she also she couldn't believe she slept that long. she got up and stretched her legs and Markus stood up and opened her door to the cabin of the plane.

"come have a drink with me Montey. Let's talk." Markus says and Montey stared at him for a moment wondering his intentions but she could see the unnerving drip of sweat go down his face, he was nervous about the flying still. Sounded like he needed a distraction. She nodded simply and walked out Markus following close behind. She owed him, so she would make it up to him by humoring him with conversation. They both sat at the bar together, Markus ordered a beer while Montey ordered just a water to get her up and going.  Markus took his beer and took a big swig of it. Montey didn't take him for a beer man, maybe whiskey, or something more expensive, but not a plain beer. It added to the mystery of who he was.

"So you are going to school in Italy yes?" he asks Montey as he sets down his bottle gently. Montey nodded and cleared her throat to prepare for a conversation.

"Hopefully yea." she puts shortly and Markus nods. He as oddly quiet and serious.

"And you have Job there yes?" he asks and Montey shrugs.

"A small job." Montey was uncomfortable giving away to much information, she still had no idea Markus's intentions. Was it rude of her to withhold that information even though she owed him so much? Maybe she as being rude being so vague.

"I see, how would you like to work for me? I pay well. benefits involved. And all you have to do is be my little sisters distraction while I conduct my business. I would hate for her to be alone." Markus says and takes another drink of his beer, each drink was huge. Montey laughed a bit, she didn't mean too but the offer was so odd and so random.

"you are humored?" Markus asks laughing with Montey and Montey waves her hand as if to apologize for her fit of giggles.

"What kind of business do you do?" Montey asks curiously. There was a long pause, it looked like Markus was trying to pull together clever words for Montey to hear, and Montey could see the slight struggle.

"I sell antiques to very high class citizens. We are talking millions in profits." I take travels often. leaving my sister behind. it hurts me to know she is alone in a large house." Markus says and Montey almost choked on her water and let out a cough.

"Millions? high class citizens?" Montey repeats and Markus smiles and runs his fingers through his hair, classic slip of nervousness that Montey picked up on.

"Yes, I need someone who will watch over her. And you seem to be interested in her, No?" he says, "In return for this, you will get paid well, and school will be covered, no problem. The place you live will be paid for. All for keeping my sister Company." Markus says and Montey was getting whiplash. First what happened at the airport in New York and now this? What are the chances of her meeting this man? These things only happened in drama movies and tv, there was no way this was all real. Montey rested her head on her hand to give it balance from the waves that were going on inside her head. Also what kind of person was Vyles? At this point she was a complete mystery to Montey, Markus only talked about how great she was, but now he thinks she needs a friend to be with, what could that mean?

"You are quiet Montey, does my offer surprise you?" Markus adds and Montey looks at him and tries her best to smile.

"I do not like being in debt to people." Montey says and Markus raises his beer and clanks it against Montey's and chugs down the rest of the beer.

"It's settled then!! I will take care of your things when we reach Rome. You will have to tell me you address and then we will go out for a proper Italian dinner, yes?" Markus exclaims. Montey raised her hand as if to interject, she wasn't saying yes, but at this point Markus was too filled with glee to turn around and tell him she didn't want to take his offer. Montey sighed and hit her head softly against the bar counter. How did she get into this mess? This trip was supposed to be simple but now she was going to be involved with people she knew little about while being under their words to keep her floating and going to school. Montey lifted her head and rubbed the newly fresh red mark on her forehead and looked at Markus who was ordering another beer.

"Vyles will be so pleased." Markus said to himself, however his expression was the opposite of his words. He looked upset, sad. "You will Love Vyles, one of kind. She is sharp, witty, definitely has a tongue on her. But it grows on you. She will come to like you back Montey i know it. You are different." Markus says and Montey stared at Markus blankly watching him talk about Vyles was interesting. He was both very happy and yet very sad when he spoke about her, which only added to the mystery. What kind of person was Vyles?

Montey stayed with Markus listening to his stories and trying to keep up with his drunk slurs, his Italian accent became thicker the more drunk he became. And then it turned from just a thick accent to just Italian phrases and words Montey could barely keep up with.

As the plane began to land Markus became a new person, his drunkish personality started to fade quickly and he fixed his shirt and hair.

"Well, about damn time." was all he had to say about it. Montey's stomach started to churn. Her plans were once to just land and go to her small apartment in Rome. But now, she was going to be stuck with a man she didn't know well who decided to fund her entire purpose in Italy all for hanging out with his sister who she also knew nothing about.

"What has this day come to?" Montey says and she buckles up ready to take her first breathe of Italy air.
