"I've been asking myself that too , mate."

"C'mon guys! I'll be late!" Cassie's cousin shouted from downstairs.
Cassie tied her trademark chestnut coloured braid and rushed to knock on her brother's door.
"You heard Lizz, Tom!" The girl said. "And I don't know about you, but she's pretty scary when she's angry."
Cassie ran downstairs and to the kitchen. Her grandfather had placed a plate of scrambled eggs with a happy face made out of ketchup and bacon on the the table.
Cassie smiled and proceeded to stuff her mouth with the breakfast. She was drinking some juice to swallow, when she heard her cousin's characteristic footsteps.
Elizabeth, known as 'Lizz', started to tap her foot. She was wearing a long black coat on top of her green dress. She was 27, the oldest cousin and also very bossy.
"Hurry up!" Lizz exclaimed and walked around the kitchen in desperation. "Teachers don't arrive late to school, especially on their first day!"
Grandpa Harold served his granddaughter a cup of tea.
"Aren't you going to have breakfast, child?" Grandpa Harold.
Lizz sighted. She had told Grandpa Harold to not call her 'child', but it was impossible. He called everyone under 35 child.
"I'm not hungry, Grandpa"
"But breakfast is the most important meal of the day!" Grandpa Harold exclaimed.
Tom rushed to the kitchen.
"What took you so long?" Lizz asked to the boy. She was frowning and tapping her foot faster.
This is not good, Cassie thought.
"It not even that late!" Tom said.
But Lizz didn't listen. She took a toast that she placed in her mouth, threw Tom an apple that he catches clumsily and pushed her cousins outside. The kids were barely able to take their bags with them. ... As the three of them walked though the cold streets, Tom saw a very pretty girl wearing red uniform on a newspaper stand. Cassie recognised her; Tom drooled every time he looked at such beautiful girl. He swallowed nervously and walked closer.
"Oh, no. You don't even think about it. This is not time for flirting, Thomas." Lizz scolded.
"I'll catch up with you later." Tom said and walked to the newspaper stand.
Meanwhile, Lizz and Cassie waited to cross the street. There were too many cars to cross, so while they waited, they were able to hear the conversation between both teenagers.
