- Some of these characters have been made up, but the story is a fan fiction of J.K.Rowling's work, and therefore is just an elongation of the world she created.
Whilst this isn't classed as mature, there will still be some violence, and low level swearing.

The smell of burnt toast and cinnamon slithered into the room like a ravenous snake. The sun's dappled light made its way through the blinds and touched her face, illuminating the room around her. Plain cream walls accompanied by a television and a few posters shrouded in ornamental frames welcomed the day, as the light in the room got ever brighter.Faith awoke with a start as her phone shouted and screamed like a child throwing a tantrum. Faster than lightning, her hand raced to locate the snooze button, only to end up swiping her phone off the bedside table . 'Shit' she muttered, rolling out of bed and onto the wooden floor covered in clothes that until yesterday had resided in her wardrobe. As usual, she'd left her packing till the night before, because, as usual, she assumed that she would wake up extremely early and finish it the next morning. However, Amber tended to overestimate her capabilities, especially when sleep was involved, and 'unintentionally' made sleep her top priority, despite the consequences that would follow.
Just a normal seventeen year old girl. She lay sprawled on her bedroom floor, contemplating what she was doing with her life, as well as attempting to turn the alarm off that she loathed with pure animosity. Cautiously, she lifted herself off the littered floor and steadied herself back onto the bed, stretching her sleepy limbs in an attempt to soothe them out of their slumber. The crimson bed sheets seductively whispered for her to fall back into their warm arms, but she knew that today was the best day of the entire year and not even her bed could change that.
Today was the day that she was going back to Hogwarts.
It was 7am on the 1st of September, and as Amber bounded down the carpeted stairs, she felt elated at the thought of being reunited with her friends and with magic. Her parents, Michelle and Chris, stood in the kitchen as they fixed up breakfast together. Plates of crispy bacon, fried eggs, toast, and chopped fruit lay on the table. Amber stealthily scooped a plump blueberry off the heavily adorned platter and popped it into her mouth.
' I am so hungry I could literally eat anything,' Amber declared, as she sauntered over to the sound of sizzling eggs in the frying pan. Her eyes roaming the marble countertop and landing upon the Hogwarts letter she had received earlier. She gingerly picked it up and traced the seal with her fingertip, remembering the day she had acquired her first letter, stating that she was a witch and had been offered a place at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Both her parents were magical, so it hadn't been much of a surprise, although, interestingly both her parents were muggle-born and so had been much more shocked when they both received their letters.
' You should start eating now, we don't want you to miss the train like you almost did last year.' Michelle teased, as she flipped even more bacon into the pan. Looking at her daughter's raised eyebrow, she couldn't help but stifle a chuckle, as Chris also began to amble over to the heavily laid table.
' Excuse me, if I remember correctly, mother, I do believe that you were the reason I almost missed the train last year, because you let the cat that I borrowed from Angela run out of the house.' Amber replied, with her playful tone reminding her of the stressful time last September when she'd spent over an hour trying to hunt down that bloody wildcat. Looking back, it was a fond memory that still amassed many laughs at the dinner table. Nothing bonds a family quite like stress does.
'Yes, well, that cat was quite something, guess it's good Avalon came back from your grandmother's just before you left last year, otherwise you would've been stuck with that crazy cat.' Chris mused, as he spooned a strawberry and toasted almond into his mouth.
