The train came to a halt, and Amber and her friends jumped down from the train steps and onto the platform. Following their eventful journey, Amber had been too distracted to think about the castle, but as she stood on the platform looking up at the starry strewn sky, she couldn't help but be awestruck by its magnificence.

A cloud of fireflies hugged the stone walls, and the glow of a thousand candles emitted a golden shine from the castle's windows. The castle emerged from the hillside as though it had been carved from the very earth itself, and its dominance overpowered all those who's eyes fell upon its haunted beauty.

Even though this was the sixth time Amber had arrived here, nothing could prepare her for the feeling that washed over her. The feeling that she had come home at last.

As the group made their way up to the carriages, they discussed the Hufflepuff welcome back party that was a tradition at Hogwarts for the sixth and seventh year students. Every new year, the houses alternated hosting a party that was meant to be a night of drinking, dancing, and dark deeds . Of course, it was a highly competitive event, as each house tried to outdo the party held the previous year, however, nobody really kept count, as not many could even remember the party the next morning, despite having a day full of lessons.

When they finally reached the carriage station, they saw that only two carriages remained. They were almost the last people to get to the carriages, due to Emily's incessant need to run along the outskirts of the forbidden forest, as in her words 'it made her feel alive'. Quite ironic, when you think about the abundance of beasts that lurk in the forest, just waiting to sink their teeth into warm flesh. But Amber knew that the alcohol from the train must have had something to do with Emily's newfound stupidity.

As the group started to pour into the second empty carriage, Amber saw that there wouldn't be enough room for everyone to fit in. So she grabbed Ronnie's arm and they made their way to the first carriage, which had a few seats spare.

'Come on girls, get moving' Professor Merrythought chided, as she ushered the girls into the carriage, closing the door behind them.
Amber and Ronnie moved towards the far right seats, before realising just who they were sharing this carriage with.

'Just can't seem to get enough of me, can you Robins ?' Kyle teased, as he leant his arm against the carriage wall, smirking as he lifted his eyes to meet hers.

'Don't flatter yourself Crosby.' Amber retorted, her eyes taking in the two other boys that sat opposite her. Avery sat on the far left of the carriage, his light blonde hair looking eerily pale under the gaze of the moon. And in the middle sat Tom Riddle. A boy Amber couldn't stand because of his arrogance, but was secretly fascinated by as well. He had such power over everybody he came into contact with, and Amber was mystified as to how he could manipulate any situation to suit him.

Tom's eyes looked like whirlpools of blue sapphire, as they drunk the pearly rays emitted from the moon. His presence in the carriage made Amber feel slightly uncomfortable, as though his cool exterior would fade any second.

"I must say, I'm surprised that Emily handled herself as well around Mia earlier. We both know she's got a bit of a temper." Kyle continued to muse to himself, wanting a reaction from Amber and Ronnie.

"Yes, well I guess she knows not to act as pathetically as you and Mia do. She's so much better than the two of you combined, why stoop to your level?" Amber effortlessly replied. The words rolling off her tongue like silky lava, as she contemplated the ease at which she could push Kyle from the moving carriage and let the wolves deal with him.
