Monday came, nothing happened after Jinhee's argument with her mom. They made up the next day, water under the bridge, and Jinhee was dreading to go to school.
"Are you ready for your first day?" Hyesun asked. "Whoever is Mom?" She finished putting on her uniform and lastly had to tie the tie which she doesn't know how to.
"I don't know how to tie a tie..."
"Look it up on YouTube dummy. I'll call you later after school okay? Have a good day,"
Jinhee did as what her mom told but after a couple of tries she still couldn't do it. Why are there even ties? Jinhee didn't care anymore, she ran out the door with the basic necessities for school. Luckily, she ran into Sarang again.
"I'm so glad to see you; can you help me with my tie?" Sarang fixed her tie for her and they both walked to school. "I'll see you around okay?" Sarang left for her class and Jinhee wasn't sure where to go first so she went to the office again. Luckily she saw Mr. Yang, "Good morning sir, I'm not sure if I go straight to class or something."
"Oh it's good that you are here. I understand that things are different from America, so your homeroom teacher will take you to your class. When you are up there standing, you have to bow politely and introduce yourself to them; also, don't forget to say 'I am in your care',"
"Okay thank you Mr. Yang," Jinhee followed her homeroom teacher all the way to a classroom and she waited out the doorway to be called in. You will be fine Jinhee. You can do this, just be yourself. "Come in,"
Jinhee walked in and looked straight ahead. She then turned and faced the class. She bowed, "Hello, my name is Lee Jinhee. I came here from America and I hope you guys can help me out, I am in your care." The class clapped and her homeroom teacher pointed to a seat in the back corner. I love sitting in the back, I can always get away with things.
The homeroom teacher left after a few minutes and Jinhee wasn't sure what to do. She sat there fiddling with her fingers, "Jinhee!" Sarang came running over to her desk.
"Oh Sarang! You're in here?"
"Yeah I am, isn't that awesome! We have classes together so now we can hang out all day!"
"It is! So tell me, how do these classes work exactly? The principals told me that we just stay in one room and it's the teachers that move around. Is that just it?"
"It is! The teacher will of course tell you what to do and such but yeah we just stay in one room,"
"This is so different from my old school, but I guess I'll have to deal with it." Jinhee and Sarang continued their conversation until the teacher came in, her first class was math.
.....
"Finally recess!" Sarang said. "What's recess?"
"Recess is basically lunch time and students just hang out and chill in other rooms,"
"Seriously? Back home we just call it lunch and no student can hang in other rooms unless the teacher is okay with it,"
"That's interesting. Well let's go to and get something to eat," The two continued their conversation then an arm was draped on their shoulders, "Hey girls! Can my friends and I join you guys?" Jinwoo asked and the two looked at the other three guys, "Sure we don't mind."
Jinhee looked around and saw so many girls looking at her and Sarang, "Hey Sarang, why are they staring at us?"
"That's what happens when you hang out with popular k-pop groups,"
