When I got home, it was still a little dark out. Dawn had just broke, and my parents still weren't up. I quietly climbed through my window careful not to make a sound. I plopped down into my bed and fell asleep instantly.

When I awoke, the sunlight streamed through the blinds, a light breeze blew my curtains around. All was quiet. I loves summer vacation. No early mornings, no school and no stress!

I hopped out of bed and walked out to the kitchen. I began cutting up a banana and some strawberries. Then I put it all in the blender, added some milk and blended. I sat outside on the lenai sipping my smoothie. Just over the palm tree grove that grew in front of the house, lay the ocean. I loved sitting and just listening to the powerful waves pound against the shore.

Later that day, I called Caleb and Jaylin and we headed off to the north beach. We surfed for a couple hours and then headed back home. I rarely ever surfed for such a short period of time, but today I just wasn't feeling too good. I had this sickening feeling in my stomach.

When I opened the large French doors to my house, my mom immediately said, "Lelani, we have to talk." Since my mom never uses that tone I was very suspicious. The only other time she used a tone like that was when my dad left. I ca still remember those day when he used to lift me in the air and I would giggle.

"This is a very serious matter." said my mom. "Along with my job comes sacrifices. we may have to move." she sighed.

"What? You can't be serious!" I said angrily. My mom is a CEO of some big company.

"I'm sorry, it's not for sure yet, but I'll find out in a couple of days. for now, just sit tight."

"Sit tight? How can I sit tight? we may be moving! I'll have to go to a new school and I'll have to leave Jaylin and Caleb!" I complained. I couldn't believe it.
