Whataya Want From Me

Most girls would adore going shopping. Trying on endless amounts of clothes, wondering which combination looks the best. Not me. I’m into fashion, but I only have to shop at one store to find the basics of what I would wear. I like combining crazy jewelry and hair accessories with basic black outfits.

I walked into Hot Topic, my favorite store, and went to the section that held the dresses. Don’t get me wrong, while I may be all “doom and gloom” I absolutely love to wear corset dresses, or anything with black lace. There isn’t anything wrong with being feminine sometimes.

Searching the rack for the latest Tripp designs, a familiar frame caught my attention. Super straight blond hair, a tight pink halter [which was more of a bra then a shirt] super short denim skirt, and flip-flops. Oh Goddess, not her…

“Oh, Ariane darling, what a lovely surprise! What are you doing here, darling?” Her fake chipper voice felt like nails on a chalkboard. I held my breath as she caught me in a tight hug.

“Oh nothing, Jen, I'm just shopping for something to wear for my brothers 21st birthday party. It’s kind of a big deal, being 21 and all.” I shot back, sarcastically.

Jen was Alec’s ex-girlfriend, and quite the stalker. I don’t think any of us could handle her control-freak nature. Don’t forget the mood swings. One minute she’s sweet, the next she’s about to rip out your throat.

She smiled smugly; her pink lip-gloss sparkled in the low light, and put her hands on her hips. “Oh really, and they forgot to invite moi? What a shame,” she muttered, checking her pink manicured nails. “Looks like I’ll have to crash this little… shindig, won’t I?”

“Cut the cheap threats, Jen. He isn’t crawling back to you; he’s with someone else. Alec will never be obsessed with you, and I won’t let you ruin James’ party either. So I suggest you just stay away from us, you little slut.” Her smiling eyes flashed with immediate hatred, and she spun on her heal and left.

I couldn’t see what Alec liked about her in the first place, I know mum and gram would have loathed her from the start… now where was I? Ah yes, shopping.

I found the cutest black corset dress, with blood red lace, a choker with a black widow, and lace leggings. With my combat boots, this would be fawsome!

It was a beautifully cloudy day, so after I checked out and began walking home, I decided to stop at Mikey’s and get a strawberry shake. Mikey was a good friend, and an even better cook. He can make everything from Chinese to Mexican, but his homemade ice cream was the best.

I almost ran into some preppy football dude, who appeared to be running for his life. I quickened my pace until I reached Mikey’s, and the look on his face sent chills down my spine. He looked as if he wanted to say something, but couldn’t conjure the words. His face mirrored pain and fear.

I put a hand on his shoulder, and he collapsed. When I saw the blood on his white apron, I screamed.

I need a Doctor

I grabbed his arm, and pulled him onto my lap, at this point, I didn’t care about blood. “For Goddess sakes Mikey, are you okie” I was terrified, this couldn’t happen to him. He was a chef, who would want to kill a chef!? “Don’t worry Mikey, help will be here soon. You’re going to be Okie, just hang on.” I cradled his head in my arms, moving the long strands of black and blond hair from his eyes. My beautiful angel, covered in blood.

I looked up as soon as I could hear the ambulance’s sirens blaring. Mikey’s eyes were moving as if he were watching a flashlight on a wall. Back and forth, slowly, then franticly, even though there was nothing but my face and the sky for him to view.
