After breakfast I left him in the living room to go take a long bath. I felt like after the events of the day before, I needed to relax. I needed to feel the hot steam and hot water massaging my tense muscles. I just needed time to relax, and not think.

I turned the water on and waited for the porcelain tub to fill up before stepping in. At first, the water burned, but once I eased myself in, it felt amazing. I had forgotten how good it felt to take long baths, mainly because I was either too busy, or didn’t have the patience to soak. This time was different. I needed to write down the dream, and to try to figure out a way to help my father. I thumbed through the pages until I found where I had left off after the last dream.

I was stunned when I saw what was written right after the dream entry… a personal note from my father…

             Dearest Ariane,

It is about time that you opened this notebook back up. I am sorry if I frightened you with the first dream, but I had to get you attention somehow. The dreams may become more graphic, but I am only doing this so I can warn you of what’s going to happen. You may not believe me now, but in time… you will not have a choice. I am sorry if I hurt you in the past, I really am, but it was for you own good, my dearest daughter. I know you will understand soon, but be careful. Things will get stranger and more dangerous, and many will not believe you. Some people have been put in place to manipulate you and to destroy your love toward me. Don’t let it happen, my daughter. Be brave, stay true, keep faith, it comes down to you. Don’t you remember that song..? I knew you would. I put that in this note to prove that I am your true father. I want you to know that, I want you to remain safe. Be careful, my dearest child, for nothing is what it seems…

            Sincerely yours,
