Jennifer holding the Tablet is making her way through the tunnels to the Hiber-Sleep chamber.
"This spacecraft is quite a maze."
After spending a few more minutes Jennifer finally reaches her desired destination. She enters the code and the doors opens up sliding. She enters the room thinking about the past week when she woke up from her Hiber-Sleep untimely.
She looks at all the seven pods which contains all the other crew-mates. She has already met them but she is eager to know more about them. She searches for their profile in the tablet.
"So first one we got here is the Mission Director Sasha Karpov. Lets see what written in here.."
Sasha Karpov. Daughter of Dimitri Karpov ( owner of Uniworld Corp. )Chief Training Officer for Space Station Robotics. Served in the World War III as the only female general. Specialises in hand to hand combat and a masters degree in mathematics.
"Wow ! Impressive ! She is beauty with brains and some muscles too"
"Okay! Next up is... "
Ethan Smith. Professor of Biology. Renowned Genticist and a pioneer in Lamba Phage.
"So, he's gonna be the other micro-biologist of the team.. "
" And who's she..."
Amelia Hill. Medical researcher. Phd in Virology and Neurology. Served in World War III as a medic.
"Oh! So she's our medical assistant. Cool"
"Now who have we got here.. "
Dev Patel. Renowned Geologist and Paleontologist. Working in the Natural History Museum. A pioneer in the studies of Astro-Geology.
" Nice. This guy's gonna be helpful in this mission"
" Oh next up is my friend..."
Jacob Caine. Inventor of Fusion Drive. Masters in Aerospace & Nuclear Engineering. One of the founding members of the UniWorld Corporation.
"Now I guess next one is our captain pilot..."
Aadil Khan. Member of Station Flight Control Team. Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering.
"And at last is our secondary pilot... "
Sean Harris. Flight Controller for Extravehicular Activity EVA. Masters in Astronautical Engineering.
"That's the last one. I guess"
"Everything seems to be fine here. I should head back to the Crew Deck"
SAI, in the Crew Deck, is staring at the screen silenty. Jennifer walks in into the room..
"You watching that same movie again?"
"Oh! You have returned." SAI turns back to look at Dr. Jennifer.
"Yes,SAI. Do you like the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey that much? You have been watching that movie all week long."
"Im just trying to understand the human species,Jenny"
"What's there to understand?"
"Your species is rather... strange. You kill yoursleves just for the sake of killing. You believe blindly in a supernatural entity that you have never experienced."
"That supernatural entity is called God, who created us"
"But humans were the one who created me,that means you people are my God"
"Yes, that may be true though"
SAI gets up from his seat and head towards the kitchen station.
"Would you like fancy some wine, Jenny? You seems to be stressed out"
"Yeah. I could use a drink or two"
While pouring wine in two glasses, SAI still looks little distorted
"Jenny, Do you hate me ?"
Surprised by the sudden heavy question by SAI. Jenny felt uncomfortable answering it. On the other hand SAI read her facial motions and emotional quotient and knew that she was not gonna answer his question.
"Its okay. I understand Jenny. Im not one of you. So you may not have any compassion for me."
"No, SAI. I don't hate you I just don't like you.
Its hard for me to like someone who doesn't have a soul"
"And what is this 'soul' you people talk about?"
"Soul is the emotional and spiritual part of a human"
"And what makes you think that I don't have a soul ? "
" It's because you don't have any kind of feelings. "
" You are right,Jenny. I don't have feelings. "
"SAI, tell me the purpose of your life ?"
" My sole purpose is to make sure that Mission Bacillus becomes successful and we could return to UNW-Ezion Ark with the microbe. That's why I was created. "
" And what if this Mission fails? "
" Then I guess.. I would be.... I don't know. "
" That right there is confusion. And its a feeling. Maybe you do have a soul, SAI. " Jennifer smiles.
