Agony

So I am "her" the girl who lives forever. I look through the book again and again making sure that none of this is a dream. My whole life, my childhood, my friends, family were all just some fake memories so that one day I find out I'm just some demon who lives on forever with no trace of memory of my past lives. Why am I here anyway? Is there some unfinished business I'm supposed to do? The more I question everything the more I wonder what else Veru and everyone else is hiding from me.
Veru sits next to me on her bed and closes the book
"It's okay to feel scared and confused. Trust me if I were you I would be too" She says setting the book behind her
"I'm not scared, I just have so many questions."
"Like what questions?" Veru says getting up and putting the book in a drawer
"Like why did end up on earth, what is my purpose, am I supposed to do something that supposedly saves the world, where did I come from?"
"Well I can answer most of those. First, you came from a special part of hell. You're like a guardian. Reincarnations are one of the most powerful demons and rule the gates and make forgotten souls live a life full of sadness and agony. Also, yes, you and me and everyone else are here to do a simple task of our own." I look at Veru in confusion
"So how do I find out what I'm supposed to do?" I ask and Veru giggles
"You don't. None of us know what we're supposed to do. We're stuck in this world until we've done whatever we needed to do"
"Then why did Lilie say it was your job to bring me here? Why did you say we're here to kill the Gangrels?"
Veru paces around the room until she stops in front of her closet
"So you'd stay. I knew you wouldn't leave if I told you we needed your help"
I get up from the bed and walk towards Veru
"But why did you say it was your job to bring me here?" She looks at me before looking at her closet door
"I'm your guardian" Veru opens her closet door and the walls are covered with photos of me and maps with red and blue marks in different places. I run my finger along the marks of the maps.
"What these marks for?" I ask
"Those are the places you spawned at" she says faintly. I notice that there was one more blue mark than the red
"What are the blue and red marks for?"
"The blue marks are where you were born. The red is for all-" "all the places I've died" I interrupted
"Yeah exactly" she said in a low voice
"Veru, did you ever have to kill me?" I turn around and look at her and she looked at me in raising her eyebrows
"No, no matter how much I thought I could I was never able to do it"
Before I could say something Jonie runs into the room
"Veru, it's Adam, he's coming and he's with someone from another pack"
We start running out the room going downstairs
"Where is he now? Who saw him?" Veru shouted as we reached the living room with the rest of the group
"Michael did" Lilie said
"Adam is alone with someone but not from his pack. I think he brought an Incubus"
"Whats an Incubus?" I ask
"They're a male demon pack" Tyler starts until he is cut off by Veru "they kidnap women and rape them when they're asleep"
"But why would Adam bring him?"
"I don't know but we need to guard the house. Jonie, Michael, and Tyler go to the back. Lilie you're with us" Veru orders them and we all run outside to our places.
It's silent as we all look around the woods for any sign of Adam. An echoing rage of laughter comes from every angle we look. It becomes louder and louder until it suddenly stops.
"So I see you've got her turned unto your little cat tribe. I guess I'm the one to thank for that since I did drop her to her death and you had no choice but to bring her back" Adam says laughing again. Branches were being broken left and right coming closer and closer. Veru looks at me and Lilie and motions us to spread out. We do what she says and I slowly walk away until I couldn't see Veru.
"Unfortunately we aren't here for Cara. We're here for the grand prize" there was a sudden high pitched blood curdling scream and then everything went silent.
"We'll be back don't worry Cara" Adam says making eye contact with me a half mile away and smiles then disappears. Lilie comes running towards me as of the rest of the group except for Veru.
"Where's Veru?" Tyler asks looking around.
"I don't know" I say walking to where Veru was. I didn't see her and I began shouting her name. There was no response.
"Cara, come here!" I hear the group shout and I ran towards them. Tyler was kneeling down on the ground with everyone surrounding him
"What is it?" I ask before noticing a spot of blood on the grind that Tyler sniffs and then stands up walking back to the house
"He took Veru" Tyler starts running in the door with group chasing after him. I stand still looking down at the blood. I'm not going to let Adam take her.

*Narrator's POV*

Cara starts running the direction Adam went and doesn't stop. Lilie walks out the door noticing Cara leaving and shouts after her.
"Cara come back!" she shouts over and over again yet Cara doesn't listen. Faster she goes and without thinking she morphs into her beast without pain. With no sign of stopping Cara runs even though she lost the direction she was going in. A half hour goes by and she finally stops and goes back to her human form screaming into the sky.
"Come get me Adam, I dare you!' "You son of a bitch bring her back!" "Come get me!" scream after scream her throat becomes sore and she drops on her knees and begins to cry.
"I'm going to kill you and every single one of your packs I promise you that, Adam" She shouts getting back on her feet walking back to the group.

Back at the house Lilie notices Cara slowly walking up the front stairs.
"She's back!" Lilie shouts running to Cara.
"Cara you know you can't be out in the woods alone you could have been kidnapped or killed" Lilie puts her around her silent friend and guiding her into the house. Tyler walks up to them before helping Lilie sit Cara on the couch.
"I couldn't find her, I tried to find her but I couldn't, she still out there we need to go out there and find her Adam's going to kill her and you guys aren't doing anything to stop it!" Cara begins to cry hysterically and Lilie pulls her in her arms.
"I know you want to go out and find her and we do too, but we can't. If Adam brought an Incubus then there could be more and there's not enough of us to fight them and the Gangrels." Cara continues to cry in Lilie's arms with the rest of the group sitting around with their heads down in disappointment. After a half hour calming Cara, she falls asleep on Lilie and the group sits in silence.

*Cara's POV*

Realizing I can't try to find Veru is bothering me. She's the strongest out of the group and for one little Incubus to kidnap her isn't right. That just means our enemies are stronger than we think. I don't want to just sit here and wait for what happens next. I wake up from my nap and see everyone is gone. There was a note on the pillow I was sleeping on it said "WE'RE OUTSIDE GO ON THE PORCH". What are they up to now?
I go out onto the front porch, it was dark outside but there were bright lights shining into the woods and I look around for the others but there was no sign of them.
"Hello?" I shout and wait for a response. There was a sudden screech miles away following a shout. I didn't know what to do so I just stood still on the porch scared. There was another shout but it sounded like my name.
"Cara look out!" I turn my head to see Jonie running from the woods and soon after there was a Gangrel flying towards me. It knocked me down and pinned me to the ground by my arms making an ugly screech. This thing was seven feet tall and looked like some humanoid gremlin. I tried getting it off me but it was too heavy so my only other option was to morph into a beast. As I transformed the Gangrel slid off me but quickly wrapped its arms around me. I feel its fangs dig deep into my side and I roar in pain. Jonie runs over and throws the Gangrel off of me and I regain my stance. I motion Jonie to stay and I jump at the gremlin beast biting its neck over and over again. Finally after the Gangrel loses its balance I bite deep into its chest and neck chewing down on it gripping onto it. I throw it around in the air until I felt the flesh tear apart. I slam the beast on the ground and roar as loud as I could in its face before biting its head off and throwing the head across the ground. I look back at Jonie her face full of shock and then she smiles a little. The others all came back and they all looked at my dirty work.
"Geez Cara who know you could be so brutal" Michael laughs before picking up the decapitated head. There was a loud thud coming from the woods and we all looked at each other in confusion. I walk over to the first tree leading the woods and made an echoing roar. Just then I hear branches break and then something is thrown onto the ground in front of me wrapped in a blanket. I morph back into my human form before kneeling down and uncovering whatever was in the blanket. I sit in shock with my hand over my mouth. Covered in scrapes and blood she was lying there unconscious, it was Veru.
