Meekly slouching over his sloppy sofa, Keith let a breath fall from his lips. Who knew how long Pidge and Lance would be in the bathroom, having secret discussions that did not concern him? By his side was a obviously bored Hunk, twiddling his thumbs and trying to find something to talk about. Obviously he knew what was going on between Pidge and Lance, so Keith decided to pry.
"So.... Hunk," he began, slyly moving his hand closer to Hunk's legs so he could scoot next to him, "What's up with you, Pidge and Lance?" Keith tilted his head and tried to mimic Lance when he attempted to draw information from people (especially his best friend); Hunk turned his head away with no response for a minute or so. Biting into his chapped dry lips, Keith tucked his hand into the crevice of his arm and propelled himself into the couch. "I just feel left out you know?" he mumbled, eyes avoiding Hunk watchful gaze.
"Dude, I'm sorry you feel that way," Hunk lifted his hand and placed it gently over Keith's shoulder, "I just... wanted to ask if you and Lance had anything going on?" The implication of the words and the tone they were said in made Keith's head shot up from its sulking position. Already was the fuzzy feeling of butterflies- that Lance had created- fluttering through his stomach.
"I... have to tell you something," Keith looked down at the floor, wooden or carpet he wasn't even paying attention to his own house, the feelings that had been pitted into his mind and body were trapped under denial for so long that now he felt as if he would burst if he didn't tell anyone. "I'M IN LOVE WITH LANCE!" a shout emerged from his open mouth and Hunk was completely taken aback with the volume that Keith had just yelled. Clasping his pale hands over his lips, he dropped himself onto the sofa: his ears were burning and his skin was going the most scarlet colour it had ever gone.
"Well I mean," Hunk put an arm behind his own neck, feeling the sweat drenching from behind there, "It wasn't really unexpected and I'm glad you finally decided to tell me your feelings." A heart-warming smile crept over Hunk's sweet face as he gestured for a hug, Keith let his own cheeks curl up and leaped into his welcoming arms. As Hunk patted his grease-filled head, the dread request came.
"But now that you've told me," he began, voice not shaky in the slightest, "you should probably go tell Lance." Keith shoved Hunk and collapsed into the array of pillows.
"I can't." Keith stated firmly.
"But you kind of have to-"
"I can't!" Keith looked more sorrowful and brought his knees up to his nose; Hunk could almost see tiny pools of tears forming in the corners of his eyes. "Listen, I can't tell him and ruin our friendship! Or at least not so suddenly." This told Hunk that a small part of Keith was curious about Lance's feelings towards him.
"I think we should all go to the park,"

Trickling from the sun-filled sky were small streams of light leaking from the gaps between tree branches. Delicate dancing leaves flew down from them and touched the forest floor. This is where Keith felt at peace. Natural aroma of the surrounding plants allowed him to feel calm and in sync with the syrene environment. Everything about this place was perfect: from the squirrels scattering around in a desperate search for food, to the budding flowers on bushes where butterflies would land to eat; the sweet hum of the woodland was wonderful to Keith. So tranquil and quiet- it was magnificent.
Not too far behind him was Hunk with his arms behind his head, headphones on and strolling alongside Lance and Pidge, who were hopelessly snacking on whatever picnic food they could get their grubby hands on. Hunk would give them a warning glance from time to time, but they didn't seem to care. Gracefully pulling off his headphones and slinging them around his neck, Hunk approached Lance and shooed away Pidge who was more than happy to have the picnic basket to themselves.
