I ran for my life, already I regret helping that thief. I thought he was an average man. Framed of stealing or murder, guess he actually was a thief. I sprinted my life out not daring to look back at the guards. The clanging of their armor rang in my ears. "Get back here you fiend!" They demanded. I was running out of breath and made a sharp turn, causing the men behind me to run into each other. Crashing could be heard and a few feminine screams. I dashed through the think and damp forest. Scrambling up the tree the soldiers closed the space between us, they stopped right at the root of the tree. "Let's keep moving! She must've ran deeper into the woods!" The captain ordered and they charged off into the thicket of green. I sighed with relief and realized that I couldn't get down. I was just like a cat stuck in a tree.
"Damn it!" I muttered under my breath. I heard sudden movement and then a blue, blurry blob sprinted past. "What was that?" I questioned softly. I Scooted around on the branch. I heard cracking and attempted to scramble off the branch, afraid it was going to collapse beneath me. While doing so my foot slipped and I went tumbling down, I tiny squeal escaped my lips as gravity dragged me down. I squeezed my eyes shut preparing for impact. After a few minuets of complete darkness I fluttered my eyes open. I was met with the stern face of a man about my age. He had a pink scarf wrapped around his neck and it draped down to his knees. His hair was a dark blue, close to that of a Greninja's and the front few hairs went a little ways past his chin. My face began to heat up a little and the man set me back down. "Th-Thank you." I mumbled looking down at my feet, I tried to keep all of my pressure on my right foot since I probably twisted my left while running.
"Are you alright?" The stoic voice asked, a hint of worry in his tone.
"Y-yeah." I lied straight through my teeth. "Once again thank you for getting me out of that predicament, and sorry if I caused you any trouble..." I apologized to him. Turned around so my back faced him, and walked away. I began to limp a little and eventually fell to the ground. I winced in pain as I held my twisted ankle. "Ow,owowowo." I groaned under my breath, clenching my teeth together.
"Your not alright, you've wounded your ankle. Let me help you." He picked me up bridle style and carried me swiftly through the trees, hopping from one branch to another. I gave in and let him do as he pleased. We reached a small clearing deep into the woods. The agile male rested me against the sturdy and ruff bark of a giant tree. He rummaged through the pouch on the side of his leg and pulled out a white cloth. He began to wrap my twisted ankle, I winced at his touch. He took a swift glance at me and wrapped it slowly. Once he was finished he tore of the cloth from the roll and finished bandaging me up.
"Thank you." I said once more. This man was so kind to a stranger like me. He sat back and set his hands on his knees,
"Now, time for questions." He told me bluntly.
"Questions?" I asked and he nodded.
"Why were you running from the guards?"
"I helped a man that I thought was a normal civilian. I didn't know he was a thief. The guards must've thought I was working with him." I informed him.
He nodded once more and continued to question me, "how did you end up in that tree?"
"I began to climb it attempting to escape the guards."
"Why didn't you turn yourself in, then explain to them what happened?"
"Nobody seems to believe me and I don't know why. Maybe they think I'm some foolish girl or something..." I grumbled.
"I believe you." I slowly looked up to him and saw a tiny smile on his face. I couldn't help but return it,
"Thank you..." I whispered with a raspy voice. "Is it okay if I ask you any questions?"
"Of course."
"You were once a Greninja right?" I questioned him and he seemed a bit surprised,
"I'm surprised you noticed..." He mumbled.
"Well your whole demeanor kind of shows it." I gestured to his outfit and chuckled a little.
"Guess your right." He told me and lifted his arms to take a good look at himself.
"Hey, stranger." He responded with a hum, "What's your name, unless you'd like me to call you Greninja."
"I go by Katsu."
"Well it's nice to meat you Katsu the Greninja! My name is (Y/N)," I gave him a great big smile, happy to meet this man. He nodded and pulled his scarf over the bridge of his nose. I wonder why? I mean it's hot out here and everything, I don't know. "Are you okay? Your face is turning red." I rested my hand on his forehead and it felt a little warm.
"Y-Yes I'm fine." He reassured me, pulling my hand away.
"You know what!" I clasped my hands together at my brilliant idea, Katsu gave my a questioning look. "Since you helped me, I'm gonna return the favor! Come on!" I began to tug at his hand leading him to my house.
Time Skip~
After wandering around for a while we found my house in the far neck of the woods. I let Katsu into my humble abode and lead him to my bedroom. Patting the bed he took a seat and I pulled out photos. I began to run through them until I found a few pictures of my Froakie. "Why did you decide on the name Katsu?" I asked,
"I'm not really sure, I just seemed to of been drawn to it so I decided on it." I nodded tears brimming my eyes,
"You want to know who this Frroakie is?" I asked and he shrugged and nodded. "That's you, before my parents made me get rid of you. Losing you was one of the hardest things to of happened to me." I whimpered out of my mouth, tears spilling out of my eyes.
"Welcome home Katsu."
