Her eyes wide, Rosy stared at the headline of the newspaper.
Local school fire caused through blackmail
"She was blackmailed into it and I was rude to her." Rosy said to Alex
"You didn't know. Honestly if you hadn't, I would've." said Alex to try and make Rosy feel less guilty. "Now let's go. We're going to miss the bus."
"I don't want to go. Liam comes back today and with only seventeen days left, I can't handle any more drama this year." Rosy said in denial.
"Jave fun explaining that to mom. Later." Alex said as reverse sociology.
"Coming." Rosy exclaimed disapprovingly.
"Hurry up or we'll be too late." Alex said rushing her other half.
The girls walked out the door and kept their binders on their shoulders.
"What would happen if we switched for one day?" Rosy asked with a look of deep thought on her face.
"People would think I'm you and you were me." Alex said sarcastically.
"Give me your binder." Rosy said as she handed Alex hers.
The girls exchanged binders and locker combinations.
When the girls got on the bus, they couldn't help but laugh as others called the twins by the wrong names. Both girls showed the other where to sit. Rosy sat next to her crush, Daniel and Alex sat with some of Rosy's friends. The bus started moving and Daniel was talking to Rosy, as he saw her as Alex. When Alex looked back, she saw Rosy and Daniel laughing and she felt complete. Soon, Rosy told Daniel that her and her sister traded spots for that day. Daniel felt stupid because he'd known Rosy longer but he honestly thought she was Alex. After talking a little more, Rosy looked down at her lap and played with her sister's binder strap while Daniel looked out the window.
"Hey Rose? Do you like surprises?" Daniel asked all of a sudden with a little nervous tone to his voice.
"Yeah. Why?" Rosy said suspiciously.
She didn't have an answer but she felt as something pressed firmly against her lips and hands held her neck gently. When the sensation ended, Rosy had wide eyes and seemed to be in shock. When Daniel started to look down, Rosy put her first two fingers under his chin and made him look up. She reached her hands to the back of his head and pulled him closer, sealing the gap between them. Time stood still and nothing was stopping them. Nothing other than school which kept the bus short. When the two walked into the school, Daniel had one arm over Rosy's shoulder and Rosy had one arm across her back. He walked her to her sister's locker and when she put in the combination, she put her stuff in her open locker then quickly kissed Daniel goodbye as he went to his own locker.
"Geez Alex, calm down or get a room." Troian said from her locker close by.
"Oh shush." Rosy replied going along with the Alex comment.
"Is Rosy okay? She seems extra happy today." Troian asked without hesitation.
"Have a little more faith in her. She doesn't need a reason to be happy does she?" Rosy said stepping out of place.
"No I guess not but still, don't you find it a little weird!"
"No. Why should I?"
"What alien mother ship came and took my friends cause you guys are not acting normal."
"Can't we just be extra cheerful for once. We both had really good things happen to us. That's it."
"Whatever you say boss."
As the conversation ended, both girls saw Alex getting swarmed by people as they were apologizing for their harsh actions and words the day before. Meanwhile, Rosy was attempting to break through the crowd and pull Alex out. By some miracle, Rosy broke through and managed to get Alex to their next class and closed the doors.
"To another day." Rosy said holding up her water bottle.
"To another day." Alex said while sighing and holding up a water bottle of her own.
