Rosy finally let go of what her school would think of her. She took a deep breath and allowed her mind to let go of another's perspective on her and what she does.
"So, I'm good but I just kinda had a stressful few days. I just kinda wish things would go back to the way they used to be. Ya know?" said Rosy as everyone nodded understandingly. Pretty soon a few tears ran down Rosy's face, Alex came and put her hand on Rosy's shoulder. Rosy turned away and went into the hallway. There she sat down, running her back against the wall, and hid her face from the world by carefully wrapping her arms around her face.
After a few minutes, Rosy put her head straight up and took some deep breaths. Rosy needed to recollect herself. She stood up and opened the door. She was immediately hugged by her sister.
"Thank Lord you're okay!!" said Alex with her voice starting to break.
"Don't cry. You'll make me cry." replied Rosy, giving both girls a teary laugh.
"We were all pretty worried about you." said Mr. Wilden, as he got up and gave Rosy a hug, soon joined by everyone in the room.
"You guys know that I'd never do anything to hurt myself or anyone else, not purposely at least?" asked Rosy, hoping everyone already knew that.
After exchanging a few looks with each other, Rosy looked down in disappointment.
"I think I speak for everyone in the room when I say that, we're humans. No one knows what we're capable of. We don't know for sure what goes on in your head so we can't get our hopes up when we may be wrong of the outcome." said Alex with a soft and gentle voice.
Rosy then looked at Ms. Avery with curiosity.
"Is that why you cried when I was in my coma?" she asked abruptly. Ms. Avery looked shocked and started to go pale. "You don't have to answer but I just want to know, I'm curious." she said and Ms. Avery looked a little more calm.
"Yeah. I didn't know what you'd do without someone there to remind you of how important you are. That's why I cried when I was leaving, cause no one would be there to give you that reminder." said Ms. Avery quietly. Even though she was hard to hear from everyone else, Rosy heard her perfectly.
Rosy took one look at Ms. Avery then ran up to her and gave her a meaningful hug. Ms. Avery looked surprised that Rosy accepted her answer.
"Thank you so much. It's people like you that keep me on my feet and off my butt." Whispered Rosy softly
"Anything to keep you here another day." Ms. Avery replied.
Rosy released her grip around Ms. Avery and watch the other teachers go and hug her again. After each teacher had gotten another hug from Rosy, she had felt more important than ever before. Quickly, the doctors shooed the teachers out of the tiny room so Rosy could calm down. Everyone said goodbye to Rosy and quickly gathered their belongings and headed back to their homes.
Soon after everyone left, Rosy was forced to lay back down and rest, along with Alex, as the doctors feared Alex would be the same case as Rosy. Rosy refused to lay down but soon enough, they brought her some sleep medicine that even Rosy powered through. The doctors were baffled and thought it might have to do with Rosy waking up from her coma so soon but after a long and complicated phone call, her mother gave confirmation that Rosy did that all the time. Doctors were speechless with Rosy's persistency that they gave up for a little.
For the next few months, the girls were kept under close watch. Cards and flowers were sent to the girls from family, friends, and businesses. Their birthday had passed and the amount of presents sent from people neither of the girls knew was outrageous. Not to even mention Christmas. New year's rolled around and the girls were escorted to the bridge so they could watch fireworks. After a few more weeks, the girls were able to go back home. After 2 days, the girls were able to go to school again.
