Fools despise wisdom and instruction. I am a fool.
As I lifted my son, I wondered if Preston would adore him. He hated me. Yet, perhaps now...Perhaps.
A Buck picks up my son and puts him in the care of a Dove.
"Some sleep Mrs. Jordan, will be good for you." The physician prescribes. He is writing things down on a bright colored paper. "What did you name him?" His voice is as vacant as a shell. Everyone leaves silently.
"Aymeric." I lied back, legs open, bed wet with blood. Did they intend me to bleed to death?
He scribbles down the final words and leaves with a curt goodbye. Then the Crones enter and finally clean me.
I proved I am a breeder. Now, I think, there will be alterations. However, as the cold sweat glides down my face and the throbbing pain doesn't subside, I notice the suffering of my soul. Wise women build homes, while foolish ones tear it down. I am the fool. I am. Tears wet my cheeks.

I went to the nursery. Iris visited yesterday, and told me she saw Aymeric. He had dark hair, but it's too early to tell anything.
The Khan's house is enormous. His tastes were more classic than my father. But I suppose Khans all have superior tastes than their inferiors. Marble, limestone, granite, no wood or carpet, unless it's furniture. It's frigidly unwelcoming, and I question reality, but reminisce the twilight days of North Carolina, and the bugs with blinking butts that light the hazy fields and ruins. I had no allegiance to Nova Levithan, the capital, where all six generations of the Cornucopia are bred. Insolence.
I walk down the hall my bare feet not making a sound on the smooth floors. I am near Aymeric's nursery when I stop at the entrance and hide. Preston is inside with a woman. She carries Aymeric in her arms as if he's her's, and her lips bend into a full smile at him. Preston watches her delightedly, and when she returns his kiss, I recognize her. Walking back quietly, I head towards the other wing. I race to my room first, and shrug the silk green fur coat on. I grab my purse stuffing it in a larger bag. I step into my black ankle boots before hurrying out. I pass by the Khan's room, and without a second thought disappear inside. I know where it is. I pull out the key, a copy of the original, and unlock the door of the safe. Quietly I took them out: Brief History: Before the Cornucopia, Brave New World, A Handmaid's Tale. I close it, lock it, and run out the door towards the annex the Doves use. I paid them. I'm outside.
I'm going home, Aymeric. I apologize your mother is a fool.
A black van pulled up in front of me and Mason opened the door. "Let's go, Lemontree, now." As I went in, I neglected my broken heart.
