#MyHandmaidsTale --- Call her Her. Or you. Or others. She's one person, but she's also all of us, living in a world full of special expectations.

Emilia, a Martha serving at the house of a Commander, prepares for the arrival of a Handmaid. She begins to pity the anticipated newcomer while wondering about what sort of woman she'll be. *This is my entry for Hulu's #MyHandmaidsTale contest based on The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood.

Women were seen as child bearing incubators; Slaves to the higher power But, no more. Carla, is unlike any other slaves. She falls in love with her master, to which is forbidden and punishable by death. Not only, will they be risking their lives, but the life of the unborn child, who has yet to know the world outside of the womb. ( The cover is based of off the book the maidens tale because, the story is similar in terms of women being treated, and the fertility issue but nothing more)

32-year-old Sarah Mitchell woke up in the middle of the night, panting, she had a nightmare. Earth was dying in her dream, and she saw people running around like chickens without a head. But when Sarah woke, she realized it wasn't a nightmare. It was real.

A concerning short story inspired by The Handmaid's Tale about how society dictates us all to meet its standard of perfection, all the while ignoring the world outside and what it has to offer. This is also an entry for the #MyHandmaidsTale Contest.

"Repopulate" That one word, that one stinking word is driven into every fertile woman's head. "Repopulate" Our job, our one job, all that we are good for. "Repopulate" Has become every woman's anthem. "Repopulate" Is all a woman has left; no children, no spouse, and no life. "Repopulate" Is all anyone cares about, men for the most part.

In Gilead, we ... well, the fertile ones, are forced to procreate for the commander's wives. What happens when the wife doesn't want a baby? What happens to us? What happens to me?

A young handmaiden writes the last entry of her diary. One of choice and consequence, of taking control, though it may lead to an unwanted conclusion.

. . . in Gilead. At least now there is.

During her coming of age ceremony a young girl learns the true story of creation, a long forgotten story known only to the women of her tribe, a story that cannot be revealed to the men of her village who maintain complete control of the women.

In 2017, the fifth wife learns she will be replaced. This one-part short story of a woman without choices living in a modern dystopia is a #MyHandmaidsTale story contest entry!
