And so it begins

Alrighty folks

I know this was originally called "Spottie's random blathering" but whatever, I didn't feel like making a whole new story and hey, I can tag "band" now!

So, ah, yeah.

I should probably start at the beginning. This will probably make more sense if you're in a group with "families," be it marching band, musical, art club, soccer, whatevertheheckyawant.

Ny'alright.

When one joins our marching band, you become one with the families. You become a member of this family. For example~

I am the mother of many, many, many children. I have adopted them all, but that's a shortened version. The long version's coming later. Most of the trumpet section are my children.

But I also have brothers and sisters, as well! And wives. And husbands! Although some of my sisters are also my wives.

For example, my siblings in the trumport section include Mr. Taps (hehe, you get me, mis amigas, the ones reading this?) and xXHawktailXx . We are siblings because our glorious mother, Brendan (eh, I'll use his real name, why not. He graduated. He's an adult now ;-;) adopted us our first year in the eight grade.

It was time for sectionals for the band. We were outside, in the sun. Like always. Our band director told us to join together in our sections and discuss things.

"Come hither, my children!" Says Brenden.

We all are confused for a moment, but we then decide to roll with it.

"Yes, father!" We call back to him from across the field.

"No," he says, "I am your mother."

"Yes, mother!" We say, correcting ourselves.

And so our family has begun.

So yeah. Things escalated from there until brothers and sisters married each other, some siblings adopted each other, other shenanigans. Heck, I married one of my daughters, and she is now my husband.

Here is a general consensus for our band, the triumphant (except against Van Bueren and St. Clairesville) Buckeye High School Band:

-The members of your section are generally considered to be your siblings unless otherwise specified.

-The same goes for your grade level, regardless of section.

-If you choose to adopt/have/name someone your child, they are probably younger than you.

-Marriage does not mean dating. Marriage means that you like and/or tolerate the person enough to be their bro.

-Males can be mothers, females can be fathers, and daughters can be husbands. Whatever you want, basically.

Keep in mind that most of these guidelines are broken regularly. For example for me alone:

-I still identify as a mother. I feel like I'm more of a mother than a father anyway, ya know?

-I adopted a senior as my child.

-I have married not one, but two of my daughters

And yeah, that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

I guess the second part to this will be the story of... How I got all of my children.

Stay classy, Wattpad!
