1st person Ron's POV

My mum finally caved to letting me and Hermione share a room. It took a lot of convincing. And by a lot, I mean a lot more than a lot. If that even makes sense. But we convinced her, so hey, that's the upside. Oh! What's the downside? You ask. The downside is that Hermione's nightmares aren't getting any better. Even when I'm with her she'll still wake up screaming. It's hard. Of course harder for her than me, but it hurts to see her this way.

"Ron! It's time to go to bed." Mum called up the stairs. "Yes mum!" I called back. I turned and grabbed Hermione off the chair she was sitting in. She squealed and started laughing. I tossed her gently on the bed and then went to turn the lights off. Then I tackled her. She squealed again because she wasn't expecting it. I kissed her neck and shoulder and she laughed. "Ron! Stop!" "No can do Mione. I love you too much." I said in between kisses. Hermione continued giggling as i kissed her.
Then I got an idea... I wrapped my arms around her waist, assuring she couldn't get away, and started tickling her lightly. She screeched and started to giggle harder. "Ron! Stop please!" She begged. "Awe why?" "Cause it tickles!" "That's the point!" "Ron stop I'm tired!" She said as she got her arms out of my grasp as I stopped tickling her. "Let's go to bed." I told her as I cast a silencing charm over the room. "Okay." She said as she snuggled into my chest. "I love you." She said. "I love you too Mione, more than you can imagine."

I have no idea what woke me up, but here I am lying in bed at 3 in the morning, not being able to fall back asleep. Hermione hadn't had a nightmare yet, which is good. Sometimes she did have them, sometimes she didn't. But she had them a lot more than she didn't.
That's when I realized how dry my lips and mouth were. I slowly got up out of bed, trying not to disturb Hermione, and walked down the stairs to get water. I stood down in the kitchen for a bit until I got tired again. I went back upstairs and when I opened the door I saw my Hermione thrashing and sobbing and gripping her arms where her mudblood scar was, and I immediately knew what she was dreaming about. I walked over to her and wrapped her up in my arms. "Shh. Baby, I'm here. Mione, it's okay. You're safe. She's gone." I said a I rocked her back and forth. After a while, her cries had stopped but the shaking continued. "You left Ron. You left me." She said plainly, but with hurt in her voice. "I'm sorry, love. I'm so so sorry. It was stupid of me. I won't leave again. Ever." I said as I kissed her cheek lovingly. "I could feel it. I could feel the knife." She said as silent tears fell down her cheeks. She was still gripping her arms. Tight. I let go of her and she whimpered. I kissed her head and pried her fingers off of her arm. "You're gonna cut of circulation if you do that." I said sweetly. "I want it off Ron." "I know." I said as I held her closer to me,rubbing small circles on her lower back. "But, that word means nothing. It means absolutely nothing. You are the brightest witch in our class. And also the most beautiful. That word doesn't make me love you any less. If anything, it makes me love you a lot more, just because it shows me what you went through, and that you survived. If I could go back and make it happen to me and not you, I would. But my love for you doesn't change just because of a title. I love you Hermione Granger. I always will. Always."
