Your P.O.V

I never really could've predicted my current situation as far as I stood in differences, occupying a very distinct universe from yours.

not that I really wished for it either to be quite frank; nobility was not a privilege in my eyes but more of a curse; I'd rather in a million years enjoy being outside, bare footed, running through the meadows like a madman, and not having a care in the world, or no none to judge how dirty my clothing would end up to be in the end of the day, or how disheveled  my hair strands presented themselves before my butler. being surrounded by the laughter of the villagers and their children as well as the hearty music played with so much passion and joy, I'd rather engulf in a world which took away all my worries and focused on the present, rather than attend balls, wear tight clothing with frills and laces, and hundreds of accessories I could not name even anymore; fake smile, and floral speeches curling I stomach and giving me a nauseated state of mind, wishing myself out of the scenario.

But I could trust no one. Having been left orphaned quite early and entrusted with the family business and wealth, I was not willing to assume leadership of something I did not want to take part of or had any interest in, but for the sake of the household members and staff which had family to be fed or expenses top pay and nowhere closeby to go where it could provide them with the same lifestyle as this one had, I saw no choice but out of guilt to accept such burden on my shoulders.

Pretenders who wanted to marry and take control of the finances would be frequent, and as much as I were tired of it, nearly every few months there would be one or two new faces who would fake their affections for me to have an easy life and access to my economical power and status. I was neither the biggest shot in the world but I wasn't poor either, and big fish were often target to hunters - that as much I had known and experienced in other situations throughout my life.

Humans weren't to be trusted, and I knew this well.

Still I held on to some hope, to that small tiny ounce that made me believe and want to give a chance, to not give up on contact and life in itself due to it.

The very few ones I trusted were some villagers with whom I'd keep a friendly word with ( and even so, not much proximity as my fear of being rejected, used, misguided did not allow it to ) or some children from the nearby sights, specially the ones from the nearby orphanages. every once they would catch me without a task to do, they would come by ready to hear or tell stories of their own; running through the fields of your garden and diving into the world of adventures told by the hand of your books, hours passing by as they sat in a circle across from me, intent and keen on retaining every sip of knowledge and magic from the tales. each time they only came more amazed and marvelloused by them;
