Pushing the tears away I stomped angrily to my locker. "Hales!" I heard Jeremy call out from behind me. I forced a smile and turned around. "Hey.." I murmured, wrapping a strand of my dark brown curly hair fiercely around my fingers. "Are you okay? You didn't answer any of my calls or text after you replied, stalker much, what's wrong?" Jeremy pleaded, concerned.I gave him a tight smile. "Nothing I was just busy." I state. "But you were never busy before, we always made time to talk to each other." Jeremy adds. I balled my fist as I saw Ally turn the corner with a bright smile. Jeremy follows my gaze. "Isn't she gorgeous?" He asked me.
I frown deeply. "If you think so."
"What's that's suppose to mean?" Jeremy questions, turning to face me. "Jer, I don't see her the way you do. In your eyes she's perfect, breathtaking, and everything. That's because I'm not the one crushing on her. I see her the way she really is." I state, letting the words slip out of my mouth before I could stop them.
"Take that back." Jeremy orders, his eyes turning as cold as steel. I shudder, pushing past him. "I will when it stops being true." I say calmly.
"Hayley, she's perfect!" Jeremy calls out to me.
Feeling tears brim the corner of my eyes I give Jeremy one last look. "I know, and I'm not." I say with venom dripping from every word.
"I didn't mean it that way." Jeremy whispers, but I pretend not to hear him.
Jeremy had already lost me.
